Up for action is a beautiful, low mileage 1967 Mercedes Benz 230S deluxe sedan. I am selling this car for a good friend of mine. He purchased the car from the original Huntington Beach owner about 2 years ago. She was purchased new at Jim Slemen's Mercedes in Santa Ana, Ca and was taken there for service most of her life. I believe she was also serviced at Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach just a few years ago. She comes with all of the original books including the stamped service manual. She still wears her original black CA plates and is currently registered and insured. Exterior: The exterior is extremely nice and straight with one quality re-spray completed about 10 years ago and holding up extremely well. All of the chrome is original and very nice except the rear bumper, which was re-chromes at time of re-paint. Everything is very straight and original and she has never been in any type of accident. All glass is is scratch free and clear. All panels have proper fit with no sag or mis-alignment. The grill is extremely nice, but could use a new set of the little aluminum horizontal "bars". All in all, she present very, very well. In fact, I have received many compliments on her in the last 2 weeks! She definitely looks crisp and fresh all the way around. There is some minor rust in the left rear QP behind the rear wheel, about the size of 2 golf balls. There is also a ever so small spot at the bottom of the driver's door, smaller than a pea and has not broken the paint. The chassis is 100% free of any rust or corrosion. Interior: The interior is original and in far better than average condition. All of the wood trim is in excellent shape, the uph. is very clean and nice showing pride of ownership. There is some minor damage on the top of the back seat, but there is a cover on that area to protect from anymore. The headliner is original and as-new. The rear inner sail panels that are covered with the headliner material do have some aging, but not bad. All of the interior chrome and trim are extremely nice and original. The original carpet is far beyond excellent. All of the weatherstripping is either excellent or replaced with factory Mercedes parts. Door panels are near perfect. All in all, a beautiful interior that shows high pride of ownership and care. All gauges and lights work correctly, even the clock except the original temp gauge. However, there has been a small modern gauge added under the dash. The original radio functions, however, they added a am/fm cd unit in the glove box. There are a set of speakers in the back package tray and one in the middle under the dash. Has really nice sound. Even the antenna is the original and in nice condition. The rubber thresholds have been replace recently with factory Mercedes originals and look great! Mechanical: I believe the engine was re-built at some point in the last few years and runs like a Swiss watch. Why it is painted the color it is, I dont know. However, it is very clean and dry and purrs. The steering box was recently replaced. The a/c system works properly and get very cold. The heater works correct and is very warm. All service parts are recent and up to date. The chassis is very very clean and dry and very original. You can see she has never been a "leaker". The suspension is tight and quite and free of any clunking or squeaks and the shocks are replacement German originals. The automatic trans. is a 4 speed and shifts tight and correct with no slipping. Even the choke works properly. All in all, a very tight vehicle and is a real pleasure to drive anywhere. I recently drove her 60 mile on the so. Cal freeway and she ran perfect. She really drives like a 5 year old car, not a 45 year old car. I believe you could drive her anywhere with reliability and comfort and get there with peace of mind. Mechanically far above most older Mercedes. Tires are recent with low miles and brakes have less than 1K miles on them. No need to ship this car, you can drive her home, anywhere. I do believe the front springs have settled a little as she sits about an inch lower in the front than the back, but it has no effect on the car. All in all, really a car that has been so well cared for that she is just a joy to drive. While she does have some aging on her, far better than 95% of the fin sedans out there. You can be very proud driving this Mercedes anywhere. Everybody who sees her admires her. A very straight and correct example of the last of the fin sedans and very deluxe.
