Vehicle Detail

All of my auctions are designed to run full term and are not ended early. Buy it now option is not offered. Offers to end the auction early will not be answered. New or Used:UsedManufacturer:HondaDescription:Honda CR480R ElsinoreYears:1983Condition:I am the second owner as it was purchased from the first owner in 2000 on ebay from a collector in the Seattle area. Motorcycle has around 25 - 30 hours of total use. I have title in hand in my name ready for transfer. Virtually all original, unrestored and unmolested motorcycle. The only items not period correct and original are the Dunlop 695 Tires, Renthal Handlebars and drive chain slider was replaced with a 1982 model. The 1983 was discontinued and very brittle with age. All the controls work smooth, fine and well. Handlebars and levers are straight. Grips are free of damage and safety wired to handlebars. Grips and levers are original OEM Honda. Footpegs, shifter and rear brake pedal are straight and original OEM Honda. The throttle cable, front brake cable and clutch cable are original OEM Honda, free of damage and work well. All the cable adjusters work fine and are not damaged from improper tool use. All the bodywork is original OEM Honda not aftermarket and not NOS. Body work is not perfect as it does show some wear from use, but the body work is free of damage such as cracks or creases. Seat is all original and the seat foam is still firm and solid. Cover is original and not aftermarket or NOS and is free of any rips, tears or damage. Chain and sprockets are NOS Honda good shape. Brakes work fine and have plenty of life left. Engine cover and frame rails near the riding boot area have some paint worn off from use. I choose to leave as it as apposed to cobble it up with touch up paint and such. Wheels are straight and true. Rims are free of damage with no dents. The spokes are not frozen and will tighten with a spoke wrench. Nipples are in good shape and not damage from using the wrong spoke wrench. The expansion chamber is Honda NOS but free of damage and looks like new with no paint worn off yet. The original was damaged in a tip over and was replaced. Silencer is still straight and free of damage. Packing is still in good shape and bike sound good. Motor has never been apart and I don't seen a reason to freshen up the motor. The bike has always had way, way, way more power than I could ever fully use. Jetting is stock and again the bike has always had too much power and at the same time started fine. Let me clarify the starting fine. Once you learn where to position the piston and then kicking through the stroke it always started fine. Fork oil and shock oil were changed out a few year ago and should be good for a while. Neither the forks or the shock leak oil and the clickers still function. All the suspension linkage, swing arm, steering stem have been lubed multiple times and work freely. Fork boots original OEM Honda and free of damage or tears. Front and rear axles and swing arm bolt have been lubed from time to time and are not frozen. All the nuts and bolts on the motorcycle from seat to bodywork to engine to suspension are all original OEM Honda and not a hodge podge of american and metric bolts from hardware and home improvement stores. None of the bolt threads throughout the bike are stripped or cross threaded. The are a few items still on this bike that are almost always missing on 28 year old bikes. They include: The rubber protectors over the chain adjuster studs, the rubber orings holding on the front number plate and the rubber covers over the from damper adjusters on the bottom of the forks. Overall I would have to say this is one of the nicest CR480s around that was actually ridden and not stored in a climate controlled garage from new. I have seen alot of 1983 Elsinores on ebay but they are always either ragged out pos or heavily restored with a slew of aftermarket parts that look like aftermarket parts. The wrong parts are too shiny and the aftermarket expansion chambers have a tendency not fit right and partially melt the gas tanks. Speaking of shiny. I had just washed the bike and sprayed down the engine and exhaust with 6 in 1 spray from habit. The paint on the exhaust and engine is original Honda will return back to a flat black once fully dried. I have to say that I really had not planned on sell the 480 but I have come to the conclusion that my vintage MX days on likely done and its time for me to move on. Shipping:Local Pickup Only!!!!!
