Vehicle Detail
Where to start...this was our daily driver for a few years, and it has been parked for two years now. Though it worked well overall, there was an accumulation of small issues when we parked it, which I'll try to itemize: Body - peeling clearcoat on the hood and roof and a couple doortops, and some oxidation of the paint. The left front fender was dinged, and pushed in enough that it just caught the driver's door edge - so that junction is a little messed up. There's a ding in the L/R quarter panel, and a ding in the hatch. The right side is fine, and everything opens and closes fine. The mirror glass fell off the mirrors and we glued on replacements that don't fit exactly. Both of the front turn signal bezels have broken spots, but they did work fine, Interior - the headliner fabric was hanging loose, so we pulled it off. The shaped panel it was fixed to is there and fine. There was a little rattle noise from the sunroof motor mechanism, but it works fien. One horn bezel is missing from the steering wheel, and the L/R door light assembly fell off. The stitching came undone on the seat part of both front seats, and one of the rears, though the leather is still fine. The inside cargo cover that goes under the hatch is missing. There may be other odds and ends I haven't noticed. Mechanical - the auto transmission would mess up the 1-2 upshift, so we used the gearshifter to do it manually. Start in 1st, shift to 2nd at 15 or so, then shift to Drive at 30 or so, at which point it functioned fine. Same pattern downshifting. The AC didn't work. The engine has a leak from the front seal area - add about 1qt per 1500 miles. There was a little ticking noise from the engine top-end, which sounded like a lifter. Had it checked, and the engine was "clean as a whistle", but probably has a hydraulic lifter going out. At one time the cooling fan was acting odd and we installed a manual switch, which is still there (though the blower started working fine by itself again). Electrics - pretty much everything worked when it was parked except - one of the door lock solenoids was sticking and would blow the fuse sometimes, so we just left the fuse out. The seat heater on the driver's side didn't work, and I think the radio didn't work. Misc - no battery. The tires are old now and would need replaced. We have both sets of wheels - the stock alloy wheels and a set of Saab steel wheels for winter tires. This was a very comfortable car, very smooth and competent on the highway and nice for trips, and fine for grocery getting around town...it could be fixed back up, or it would be great for a parts car - it is complete as we drove it. We do have the clear title, and the key. Let me know of any questions, and happy bidding!
