Vehicle Detail

Here we have up for auction is a very RARE ORIGINAL UNMOLESTED 1989 BUICK LESABRE T-TYPE COUPE. I have to say that there aren’t many if any of these left that are this original. It has a clear Pennsylvania title. From what I can see it has NOT seen much rain, snow or any foul weather for that matter. The body is 99% straight with only 3 little dents of which 1 can barely be seen. This car doesn’t seem to ever have been hit and every single body line is perfect. This is an original car. All the doors, hood and trunk open and close without a problem. From what I can tell it has never been painted or any panels been replaced. All of the factory VIN tags are still on doors, fenders, hood and trunk. All the bolts holding those panels on have never been turned. It has the normal rock chips, headliner sag (NO RIPS), dash pad, and such, from being 22 years old and driven on average 4500 miles per year. But all in this car is in great shape. The interior is just about MINT. There is no fading or rips anywhere. The velour seats are still plush with almost no signs of wear. Both driver and passenger power seats mechanisms function properly, windows go up down fine, Power door Locks work fine, Red Hot Heat, Tilt Steering Wheel and Cruise Control all work just fine. The A/C works but seems to have a small leak somewhere that I can’t find. I charged it up and it blows ICE COlD but it only lasts a few days. The dashboard is backlit in Red which is part of the T-TYPE package. The Power Mirrors seem to work when they want to but as long as they are positioned where you can utilize them that is all that really matters. The switch seems to be a little funky. The paint on the car is all original and looks great but it has its share of minor imperfections. All of the proper Black Out Package moldings and badges are in place and in very good shape. The Front Air Dam is in excellent shape with not a crack on it, just a little faded. The grille, headlight bezels etc…are all perfect. The front fenders have 0 rot or dents, the hood seems to have had a very minor repair along the front lip probably for rock chips but 0 rot or dents, the doors, rear quarters, roof and deck lid have 0 rot and all shine well. The Rear Spoiler needs replacement which is a very common problem on all these cars. There is a replacement spoiler that is available from Danko Productions for about $250.00. I was going to purchase it and have it painted and install it but I figured that whoever buys this car would want to do their own thing. Mechanically the car is very tight. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, with no major leaks. The battery and radiator are new, the coolant is fresh, oil and filter are fresh and the chassis has been lubricated as well. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts very well with a little slip between 2nd and 3rd but it drives just fine at 60 MPH on the highway. There are new front brake pads, new rear brake shoes and the left rear wheel cylinder was replaced. Overall the car rides and handles very well. The tires are 215/65/16 Goodyear Aquatread Directionals and have about 90% life left in the front and 70% life left in the rear. The wheels, original center caps and Factory lug nuts are all in great shape. Ok, the bad, (there always is something) 1st, the fuel guage does not work, 2nd there is a little spot of rust about ½” by 1” at the bottom of the left A Pillar and that’s it. I have driven this car on and off for about 2 weeks and have gotten a lot of compliments. All in all with a little work this car would be a great classic for a Buick lover.
