Vehicle Detail

VIN: YV1AX4948C1787527 Another car you can service yourself (not full of computers). I have this second of 2 Volvos as a family car for years and years. I’m moving to newer vehicles and is an extra car that spend a lot of the time just parked in the driveway and hardly used lately (just like the other Volvo, is no longer needed. ) . We are the 2nd owners in California, so there's no rust on the vehicle at all. The original owner regularly had the car serviced by the dealer. We kept up the practice by regularly servicing the car by a factory trained Volvo mechanic. Can be used forever if you are a Volvo fan and like to work on them, as it was easy maintenance and the repairs too, once you know what to replace. Volvos are very solid vehicles. Beige color 4 cylinder gasoline engine with fuel injection Clean title, (you get the pink slip signed by the owner) Automatic transmission, 4 speeds and overdrive Power lock Power steering Factory A/C (see note below) Car runs ok at 70+ mph in the freeways, and will go to any distance that you need to travel with power, and has 197,987 original miles. The car is a 1982 model, but many important component were replaced or serviced (new parts) The engine is pretty good...no knocking, good compression. list of the “done's”: Nice Michelin tires with a lots of rubber All oils were replaced in May/2011 (engine w/filter, trans., differential, brake fluid line flushed) Engine head work 3 years ago New Shocks Re-painted, 6 years ago, “sand” color Recently replaced/serviced: U-joints on drive shaftFront tie bars Bearings replaced on 4 wheels Flushed brake system when new master cylinder was installed Replaced Exhaust and tail pipe 3 months ago (see in the pict) Catalytic converter replaced 2 years ago New radiator, hoses, thermostat New spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap All belts replaced Voltage regulator for the alternator replaced New fuel filter Battery is good New alternator And Good Kenwood radio To do: Driver side seat need new cushion material, we just used a pillow on top of it, and it can be left like this. AC need to be recharged, we have not used in 2 years. Driver side door need a new stem to lock/unlock, it locks all doors. It works OK with the key. I've eliminated a leak from the transmission, replacing the connector and seal (new one) and now is completely dry as other components too, although the car is not much used, we don’t have oil in the driveway anymore. Also eliminated a pressure problem with the fuel pressure that caused coughing and hard start when cold. Replacing several parts (FPR fuel pressure regulator) and finally the replacement of the line from the external fuel pump to the filter did the trick, and now always starts, just a little hard when cold, and right away when warm. Replaced both fuel pumps during this process. -sun cracks in the dashboard, they are covered as you see in the pict, and all other interior paneling are good. It may not need any action, but I do disclose these further items. -once in a while the ignition key plays hard-to-turn-off the engine, sometimes it does not happens in months, and we also learned to just live with it. If anything that is not explicit as equipment; please assume that the car does not have (or just ask the question at 626-331-2497)
