Description You are looking at a beautiful RUST FREE Survivor 1962 Thunderbird 390. This Tennessee car has never seen a winter and it shows. It has 67,000 original miles and has been in the same family since new. Scroll down and enjoy the 150+ photos below. Condition Details: Cosmetically, it is in great shape for the year of automobile and is fairly rust free as it spent most of its life in the South. It does have it's issues with a few chips and touch ups in the paint. They painted the car without removing some of the trim and gaskets but the paint does look very nice with loads of patina as the paint job is probably 30 years old. The car that has not been hit that we can see, and it is a SOUTHERN car so the floor pans and panels look great. Mechanically, the engine needed to be rebuilt, so they ordered the correct 390 engine which has very low miles and runs well when warmed up. It shifts, starts and stops well. Surprisingly, everything works except the clock and radio. Even the interior lights work. The battery is a few years old, the tires are like new, and it has a new master cylinder and the brakes have been completely redone recently as well. The lights and directional signals appear functional. The heater works as well. The glass is all good and some appears original. It probably could use a tune up and general check over as it has sat for a few years, but ran and drove well during our photo shoot. It could be completely restored but in our opinion, it is too nice to do that, and it is better than driver quality as it is. We have documented the car with the many, many photos. It runs and drives well and would be a great driver for the malt shop or local car show. These cars are getting really hard to find, especially a southern one. Best of all, there is NO reserve.
