Vehicle Detail
?1970 Ford Mustang Grande Coupe w/ 302 I have owned several classic mustangs in my life, from '66 - '70's and this was by far my favorite I have ever had. I bought it nearly completely restored, so it was a great car. I lost my home to a fire in December 2008 and it sat under a tree for about a year until I could afford to get my family into a house and on our feet again. There are some minor surface rust spots in the door jams and I seen a small spot forming on the edge of one of the rear side signal lenses. The tree it sat under dropped some small debris causing some very small dents in the hood, as shown in the picture with my hand. There are about 4 or 5 of them scattered around the hood and are all about the size of a nickel. Whoever put the hood scoop on before I bought the car did not properly paint it, so there is clear coat pealing from around the backside of the hood where the scoop meets. There is also some minor wear and tear on the paint job, but no damage other than the very small hood dents. It could use a new paint job, or a good detailer to touch it up. Directly below the gas cap shows some flaking of the paint, too, assumedly from gas spilling while filling up and eating the clear coat off of time. I try to be as honest as possible, and want to say that this is my baby and I would love to keep it, but feel like it is in my family's best interest to sell. Please ask any questions, if you need more pictures ask away, or if you want to setup a time to see it, shoot me an email and we will set something up. I am going to put it up for sale locally as well, so first come first serve. You are welcome to text me anytime or leave me a voicemail, if you are not the emailing type. My cell number is 304-360-1660. I paid $14,000 for the car in 2007, when I purchased it from a man in Long Beach California. IT IS A TRUE CALIFORNIA CAR. It has only been away from the west coast for the last 4 years. I have put into it over $7,000, nearly all of which I have receipts for, and will be included in the sale. I went through a great company to get the car financed when I originally purcahsed it, if you do not have the funds available, but please make sure you have preapproval before you bid on the car. They charged me a great interest and I paid it off in about 18 months. The company is called Soverign Bank. When bought in 2007, this is what was said: "There is only 160 miles total on this restoration, including the transmission. Engine is a 302 with 15,716 actual miles, with Collector’s Update and Inspection done... every year, since 1989. We put in a larger cam, 3/4 Upgraded Teflon pistons, Roller tips on valves, Board-Over 10, Edelbrock intake, and 4 barrel carburetor. Transmission upgraded to Metric AOD with overdrive. Installed electronic ignition. New Old Stock rear end, and new suspension front and back. New Shelby GT front springs. Brakes upgraded to disc and are power assist. Installed new gauges (RPM, temp, battery, oil pressure). New Drums on back, New Gas tank, New Interior, carpet, seats, and door panels. Blapunkt Stereo and rear speakers, new signal lamps, and moldings. Put on new tires with Crager Rims. New dual exhaust installed, with Header and Magnaflow Mufflers." Since I have had it, these are the notable things I have done to it: · I have some brand new items sitting in my closet to install, but haven't had the time: dash cap, steering wheel, horn assembly, hood latch assembly, hood bumpers, & trunk seal (now) · New rear wheel cylinders (2011) · Replaced both valve cover gaskets (2011) · Replaced manifold gaskets (2011) · Installed new transmission hose/line and clamps (2011) · New B&M pistol grip shifter (2011) · New shifter cable and assembly (2011) · New power brake booster (2010) · New master cylinder (2010) · New emergency brake and assembly (2010) · Installed new front sway bar kit (2010) · New front brake calipers, pads, and adjusters (2010) · New transmission seal & fluid (2010) · Flushed radiator, plugs, wires, distributor… complete tune-up (2010) · Resealed front and rear windshields (2009) · Installed battery shutoff switch (2009) · Installed battery energy saver (2009) · Installed new headliner (2009) · New power steering lines and belts (2008) · Installed new heater core and replaced squirrel cage (2008) · New lockable gas cap (2008) Here are the things that the two inspectors and I agreed would be the best ideas for completing a restoration of the car. Most of it is to dress and show, and the actual working parts are just fine, but I wanted to list everything we spoke about. I located all of the items at different places I routinely buy from, such as Mustang Unlimited, Kentucky Mustangs, Bluegrass Mustang, and of course Ebay: Cost Description Item# 18 decal kit DK30 96 side mirrors ebay 25 vent/plug ebay 750 body paint touchup 1130 2 Shock tower/Apron Assmblies DA154R 01 7 Replace driver seatbelt bolt 185 Chrome Alternator PM837100 01 210 Chrome Starter MasterTorque PM13124 01 15 Chrome Alternator Brackets ABC65 01 17 Chrome Master Cylinder Cap M2162A30101 17 Thermostat Housing Chrome 1083662 01 20 Chrome Radiator Cap 8102 01 40 Chrome Export Brace 160522 01 8 Ignition Coil Clamp Chrome M12044A201 45 Shock Tower Brckts Chrome 718A018 01 110 Radiator Flex Fan Chrome 1370 01 190 Headers Chrome Kit 652809 01 9 Air Cleaner Nut M9697C 01 35 Chrome Tailpipe ext's M250TC 01 19 Windshield Washer Nozzles 07603 01 30 Windshield Wshr Reservoir F2478R 01 6 Windshield Wshr Hose Kit HH037B 01 19 Washer Pump WG30 3001 TOTAL
