Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1962 studebaker lark daytona two door coupe. I am the second owner and the car has always been in dry central washington. The car was originally purchased by a customer of mine off the showroom floor at Rasmussen motors in Portland Oregon. He kept the car until 2004 when I purchased the car from him. I have spent that time slowly fixing it up but have decided to concentrate on other projects so it has to go. The car is an all original 289, t10 borg warner four speed, twin traction rear end, bucket seats with a console. The seats and console were redone a few years back in red and white. The glass is all good but the windshield does have a rock chip that is out of the drivers sight. The best thing about this car is the body. We all know that rust repair gets really expensive, really quick. What you see is surface rust only no rot or heavy pitting. All of the sheetmetal is original to the car and has never been messed with. The floors required two small patches that were professionally done and thats it. The underside has been preserved by a thick layer of grease, undercoat ect. The transmission has a newer clutch, new hurst shifter and shifts great with no problems. The engine starts right up with dual exhaust pipes and runs good but has noise and will need rebuilt. The rear end is quiet and smooth. The car had all new drum brakes a few years back. The original radiator has been recored. The original carburetor was also professionally rebuilt. The steering and suspension is all stock. I replaced the heater core, hoses and the heater valve this year. The interior is pretty complete but is in boxes along with alot of other parts I have for the car. This is a running driving project that you can drive while you restore. The grill is broken at the bottom but might be repairable. I have a free and clear washington state title in my name. If you need any more pictures or have questions please dont hesitate to ask or call me. My cell number is 509-261-0224 my name is Gary. On Oct-03-11 at 10:39:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I was digging through my papers this morning and I found the original bill of sale from Rasmussen motors to the first owner, the original title, registration and the owners manual. I also found a brand new in the box carpet kit that will also go with the car. On Oct-05-11 at 17:07:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had many calls concerning the interior of the car. The seats and console have been recovered but everything else is old and original to the car. I saved things like the door panels to use as a pattern but most of the interior is worn out and needs replaced. Please remember this is a running, driving project that is 50 years old. Thanks for lookingOn Oct-05-11 at 17:30:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I also want to mention that I have the stock shifter assembly that is original to this car and it will be included in the sale
