Vehicle Detail
this is for a 1964 ford falcon 2 door hardtop vintage race car. there is no motor or transmission, and no title--bill of sale only. this is a car i bought at a swap meet, and had been stored on a trailer since 1989. i dont know when the last time it ran was, late 70's, early 80's? i posted some pics on a web site, and wanted to see if there was any known history on the car. the car was built in southern california in the early to mid 70's. the paint and lettering on the car are still the original thet was put on the car when it was raced. i found the guy who originally painted the car, still in southern california. he remembers the car well, and commented on how well it was built for the times. the car was built for the owners son of f&m muffler service in poway california, and from what the painter says it was a well talked about car there. still has the sponsor's lettering on the car, as well as the drivers name. the painter picked out the name of the car. the painter still paints cars in southern california, and still goes by potter the painter. he was a real nice guy to talk to. he thinks he remembers the car was painted around 1975. he also said it was mainly raced at orange county raceway. would be some neat history to find or photos. he remembers the big hemi dart hood scoop on the car and asked if it was still there. yep, just like a time capsule. he also thought the car to race in the b/fx class, but not sure. the hood pins on the car, as does the rear decklid. the gauges are pretty old, and the tach sure looks cool with the old sweep face. nice roll cage still in the car, and tubed rear end 9". not sure of the gears. car also comes with drive shaft, and headers. i also have a radiator that can go with the car from either one of my old falcons or comets. the guy i bought it from said it also needs a master cylinder, as this one leaks. doors shut good on the car, and it sits just right with the vintage look to it. the floor where shifter goes has been cut to take either different transmission, or shifters, so it looks like any combo will work. old vintage and historic race cars are getting so hard to find, and this one looks like it was last raced, and then stored and forgotten. i was going to put either a 289 or a 302 and a top loader in it, just for shows, but i am working on and finishing a plymouth duster for my daughter that is taking more money than i thought. i will also be selling a 1964 mercury comet 2 door hardtop soon, running and driving car. teh door tag, matches the fender number on this car. this is really a neat vintage race car, that has been left alone, and probably could be brought back for vintage drag racing. all the car magazines are doing articles on stuff like this, lost and found, and this is probably going to go up in value pretty fast. i will include a buy it now, but once reserve is met, it will be auction only, and could be pulled if sold locally. THE RESERVE ON THIS OLD HISTORIC RACE CAR WILL BE UNDER $2500.00 SO SOMEONE WILL WIN THIS CAR!!! IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10+ FEED BACKS, PLEASE E-MAIL BEFORE BIDDING OR I MAY CANCEL YOUR BID!!! CHECK MY FEEDBACK. I CAN STORE CAR FOR 1 MONTH FREE, THEN $75.00 PER MONTH AFTER. REMEMBER----NO TITLE!!!
