Vehicle Detail
This auction is for my 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible. I am re-listing it due to the overwhelming request for more pictures than the four exterior shots I had in the original ad. Hopefully this will help the many out of state buyers potentially interested in shipping the car. I bought this car as the foundation for a restomod project but no longer have the time or space to complete it. I cannot emphasize enough that if I had the space to build this car I would NOT be selling it. I've seen whats out there and most cars are either already built and therefore expensive, or they are rust buckets. This is the perfect platform for a restomod. I was inspired by the cars at www.detroitspeed.com and found this one to start my build. This car is the shell only, no drivetrain or interior. The body, subframe, floorpans, frame rails, subframe mounts, are all solid and rust free. The only rust I found in the car is in the trunk, and that would be an easily repaired with a patch panel section, no need for an entire floor. The car has the original factory dash installed which is in excellent condition. The car was originally a V8 as shown by the VIN and the 400 hood belongs to this car as far as I know but I have no idea how to determine that for certain. In addition to other miscellaneous parts the auction also includes a factory four speed pedal assembly and a factory four speed console as well although I don't know if they were on this car originally. The auction also includes a brand new radiator support (see pics) and radiator mounts, and in addition the original one it replaced. I'm also including the extra lower front valance and hood latch seen in the pics. As I stated there are some other miscellaneous parts but bid based on the pics and the listing, not what you think should be included. The steering wheel in the pictures is NOT included with the auction. That wheel came off another car I used to own and has sentimental value but the original firebird wheel is included in its place, albeit a little rough. Shipping and payment : The car is located about an hour from Alexandria Virgina. I'm perfectly willing to ship the vehicle anywhere and will make myself available to meet the shipper and help get it loaded but the buyer must pay for and arrange all shipping. Payment is due in full within 3 days of the auction ending or upon pick up (whichever occurs first), and a $250.00 deposit is due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction ending. If you will be picking up the car in person you can pay the balance in cash when you pick up the car. If you plan to have the car shipped you can pay the deposit via Paypal and the balance via a certified cashiers check. I do require payment in full (cleared funds) prior to shipping or release of the title. Although payment is due within 3 days I do have a little flexibility as far as storing the car while shipping/pick up arrangements are being made if necessary. This is not an offer of extended storage just a willingness to accommodate reasonable delays in pick up schedule. Also please keep in mind that this car is being stored for me in someone elses garage, about an hour from my house, so I do have to work around their schedule as far as access is concerned. For that reason picking up the car will be much easier and may only be possible on the weekends (likely after 4pm) but I will do my best to accommodate everyone as easily as possible. Please email me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
