Vehicle Detail
1968 Mustang Convertible (Simply refresh this page if all photos don't come up the first time) Mt. Pleasant, SC A nice driver that will turn heads, this 1968 Mustang convertible is equipped with a peppy 200-cubic-inch six-cylinder engine and automatic C-4 transmission. It features new Goodyear tires (July '11), a totally rebuilt transmission (July '11) and new master cylinder plus many other new parts. Upgrades include a two-tone garnet-and-white interior, dual exhaust, sport rims, chrome valve cover, GT hood, fog lights and gas cap, console, and sport steering wheel. Starts, runs and drives great. All gauges work. The car sits up nicely and is solid in all the right places. Doors open and close great. The off-white manual top has no rips or holes and looks pretty good. That said, there are areas of this car that need attention as would be expected in a 43-year-old vehicle in this price range. The paint still holds a shine but has some cracks and chips. The windshield has a crack on the passenger side. There's minor rust in both lower doors and in front of the right rear wheel, plus some surface rust on the underside of the floors which a prior owner fortified with steel plates. The lower passenger door also has a slight crease dent in it. All the windows go up and down, but some need hand assistance and the driver side door handle shaft and window crank shaft are stripped and need to be replaced (less than $100 fix). The console is missing the sliding door and radio. The heat/vent cables need to be connected to the heater control panel. Only the driver's seat has a seatbelt. Nighttime interior/dash lights don't work. All relatively easy fixes. Included in this sale are three (3) boxes of new and old parts, including shop manuals, new door sill plates and chrome rocker panels. Overall, this classic Mustang with an all-Southern heritage (see data plate information below) is nice enough to draw looks but not so restored that you'd be afraid to take it to the grocery store for fear of getting a buggy scratch. These under-$10,000 running and driving '60s Mustang convertibles are becoming harder and harder to find. Don't miss this opportunity. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. Bid with confidence. Included in my 100 percent eBay rating is a 3-for-3 success record on collector car sales ('64 Mercedes roadster, '67 Dodge Dart convertible and a '91 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4). Thanks for looking! Mt. Pleasant, SC
