Up for auction is a one-owner 2008(K8) Suzuki GSX-R 1000 done in the legendary Suzuki blue/white paint scheme with only 4,183 miles on it! This bike is thoroughly modern, and is practically on par with the best of the current literbikes on the market. It has a 999cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine with a host of technological advancements, including: three-mode pushbutton-activated engine power selection, 12-hole injectors, back-torque limiting clutch, adjustable damping and rebound on front forks and rear shock, smooth hydraulic clutch, aluminum twin-spar frame with fewer welds, and that’s just the beginning! Simply click on “Features” and “Specs” below the large picture of the bike. This bike has been well cared for, and has never been modified or tracked! However, this bike has been laid down at slow speed (approx. 25 mph). The oil and oil filter were just changed, and the tires were replaced (front and rear) about 2,000 miles ago with matching Bridgestone Battlax BT016R multi-compound tires, a significant improvement from the previous generation BT015’s . They have about 20% tread remaining (about another 500 miles) and have worn quite uniformly! The extent of the damage from the drop is as follows: - A minor scuff/rash on the stator cover, and a “nick” on one of the right-side engine covers. - A half-quarter-sized piece cracked off from the right upper-side silver fairing. - Damage to the plastic side fairings on both sides. They have been removed and will not be included in the sale of this bike. What you see on the bike is what you get! This bike will be sold exactly as it is shown in this listing! Wheelstand WILL NOT be included! - A 2 ½ inch gouge on the right-side exhaust can. - Scuffing/rash on both left and right brake levers, and left bar end. - Minor scuffing on right-side mirror housing. - “Stress crack” on foot-actuated rear brake lever. It is still intact and works fine. - Some minor scuffing/rash on the right side of the plastic fuel tank cowl. - A hardly-noticeable 3mm-long “nick” in the frame on the upper right-hand side (can be seen in the image showing the fuel-tank cover with careful inspection). - A 2 ½ inch gouge on the rear wheel from improper removal of a wheel weight by a tech mounting the then-new BT016 tires at a factory-authorized Suzuki retailer/servicing facility. - Bike idles rough and stumbles occasionally at low speeds (under 30 mph). Dealer believes one or two of the fuel injectors aren’t always actuating at idle/low speed and thinks the ECU is the culprit and will eventually need to be replaced. Otherwise the bike rides and pulls just fine through the midrange and the upper reaches! Overall, this bike pulls strong and will certainly end up making someone an easy and relatively inexpensive project bike! It’s ALL STOCK, and serves as a super competent platform to build upon! This bike comes with the factory owner’s manual and rider safety guide, as well as the OEM rear passenger seat cowl. Bike has a clean and clear title with no lien on it. Only have one key, as I can’t find the spare. Selling as I am preparing to move.
