Vehicle Detail
Hi, Up for sale is my 1999 Subaru Imprezza Oubact Sport Wagon. It is 2-tone exterior color black and silver, with a gray cloth interior. The Good: It has an aftermarket CD player, a Pioneer DEH-1600 (with removable face). Interior in good shape, no rips or stains on seats. All electrical systems work fine, all bulbs intact, power mirrors, windows and door locks all work fine, etc. Heating and AC work perfectly 2.2 L engine great on gas For the most part, tires are in good shape with a lot of good tread left. One tire was replaced very recently. Valid NJ Inspections ticker thru July 2012. Fulltime AWD Rear window wiper The Bad: Engine leaks oil, have to add a quart every 200-300 miles. Carpet under driver's feet ripped, but I have a carpet floor mat down (comes with sale of car, unless you don't want it). Paint peeling in a few areas A few very small dings and dents This is the big problem, the transmission most likely needs major work or complete repair. Although it is possible that this could be just a simple repair for $100 or so, most likely it is a major repair or will need a complete replacement, which I have been quoted at $1,000 to replace. The Kelly Blue Book value on this car, in good condition, with the miles and options shown above, is $3485. So even if you plan on having to completely replace the transmission, there is still a very good value to be had if you can win this car for under $2,000. The car is at my house in Barnegat NJ, and I welcome all potential bidders to stop by and see the car and take it for a test drive before bidding. Notes: I also have the car listed locally on craigslist for $1,500, so I do reserve the right to end auction early if it sells, but truthfully the odds of that happening are very slim, as all of the local people on craigslist around here are total cheapskates. The car's interior is kinda dirty at the moment (needs to be vacuumed), but if the winning bid is over $1,500 I will definitely clean it inside and out for you. If the car sells for $500 or less, I'm taking the CD player out and selling it myself separately. On Sep-24-11 at 07:35:54 PDT, seller added the following information: I took the car off of craigslist, I understand that may have been scaring a few people away from bidding here Please note: I thought it went without saying on all auto sales by private owners, but then it occurred to me that maybe it wasn't as obvious as I thought. So just to remove any doubts, this is an AS IS, WHERE IS sale. As I said before, you are welcome to come see the car, inspect the car (bring your mechanic if you're lucky enough to have one), and take it for a test drive. And you can do this either before you bid, or even after you bid when you come to pick up the car. So if you are the winning bidder, and when you come to pick it up you check it out and there's something about the car you're not happy with, that'll be fine, I'll just cancel the Ebay transaction, you'll get a 100% refund, and I'll try to sell it again on craigslist. But I don't want to be responsible if something happens a month or two from after you buy it. Put yourself in my shoes, how could I possibly know what future problems could come up, or if a new problem wasn't caused by the buyer himself. Unless you buy a car from a dealer and he gives you a warranty, the bottom line is is that buying a used car is always a gamble. If any of the previous bidders wish to remove their bids, please just let me know. Thanks
