Vehicle Detail
This Camry was made in Japan in November, 1991, a flagship V6 Luxury Edition to debut the new ’92 Camry. I bought it new at Thousand Oaks Toyota in 1992. It hasn’t failed me since, and has been used more for road trips than commuting. It’s passed every inspection, and it still rides smooth and fast. Quick ABS brakes. Airbag. Most if not all service receipts. I was not planning to sell it this year, but I’m moving. It has three of four original polished alloy wheels (the fourth is the non-polished ’92 Camry alloy wheel). Original engine and transmission, neither leaks oil (gaskets have been replaced). No major accidents, but some minor body work. Great history report. New: Oil, transmission fluid, coolant and AC recharge. Like-new condition: Distributor, ignition wires, door handles. Very good condition: Front tires (all-weather Bridgestone) and suspension (struts, shocks, boots and parking brake. Good rear tires, brake pads, calipers, platinum plugs, timing belt, engine mounts. No leaks (oils, coolants, rain). All lights, signals, and cruise control work. Alignment is true, steering is precise and quiet. Great highway car, 26 MPG. Interior clean and dry. Quiet fan. Non-smoking car. No tears in the seats. One discreet stable <2-inch crack in top of dashboard. Some 1/4" cracks in console lid (pic). Floor mats decent. No cracks in the windshield, one ding. The body has 19 years of minor dimples and chips in the paint, most touched-up. A parking lot scrape (hit and run) on the left rear wheel well has been smoothed over with bondo and painted with primer, but there is some rust poking thru the primer. There are some other sun bleached and peeling patches of paint. It would look better with a paint job. The pics were taken after Tropical Storm Lee, so the sand on the running boards was splashed there by the rain. I can rinse it and send better pics as requested. Tow hitch included. Ball negotiable. Needs attention: 1. The right rear tire needs to be resealed to the rim; leaks slowly, 2 lb/day. I top it up every few days. You should know: 1. During the heat wave in stop-n-go traffic, with the AC on, the engine temperature gauge would rise. When idling, I would turn-off the AC. I flushed the coolant and recharged the AC, and it improved. 2. Exhaust pipe has a patch that’s working well. 3. Front passenger window goes up but not down…since the window can go down with the input wires reversed, I think it is the switch. 4. Sun roof does not open. 5. Sound system is removed, but front doors are wired for after-market speakers. I will show you how to remove the panels to install your own system. Terms: Offered honestly to honest buyers. Therefore sold as-is, with some gas and two spare keys. By bidding, you agree to pay a non-refundable $75 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours (this covers my selling costs if you defect). Balance due, paypal or cash, at the time of pick-up, within three days. The title is ready to sign over, please bring your own tags to drive away. FAX machine available if necessary to arrange for your car insurance on the spot. Easy to find and park location in Northwest DC, by the National Cathedral.
