Vehicle Detail

1958 BMW R69Please be sure to scroll down to view high resolution photos and video of a cold start and walk around! Up for auction is a very original, matching numbers 1958 BMW R69. It's a beautiful example of BMW's top of the line motorcycle of the era. It resided in Texas the vast majority of its life, and underwent a full cosmetic restoration eight years ago. Every piece on this motorcycle is original. The collection I purchased it from was quite extensive. The owner had one BMW R69, one R69S as well as an R68. This one has seen very few miles over the years and this is evidenced by the condition of the original seat, the drive splines, the original red tank linging and overall handling of the vehicle. Mechanically the bike is tip top. Truly a first kick motorcycle. The engine is smooth and the mufflers are whisper quiet. The transmission is nice and tight, and is free of that all too common BMW clunk. This bike shifts smoothly through the gear box, both up and down. It simply gives a pleasant click when going from neutral to first, and shifting at speed is both tight and smooth. All electrics function as they should. The bike has a new Karcoma petcock, Yuasa battery, Continental tires and Bosch spark plugs. It's ready to hit the road. Cosmetically the bike is as near flawless as you can get. I see a 1/4" x 7/8" inch rub that was touched upon the front fender. No dents, dings or scratches. The paint shines like new. It's as good if not better than from the factory. All other chrome shines beautifully as do the alloy wheels. The inside of the large sport touring tank is in immaculate condition with its original red lining. The original seat is also in mint condition, really as close to new as you will find. Again, this is a matching number bike that is being sold with a clear title. All shipping arrangements are to be made by the buyer at their expense. I will do my best to accommodate a smooth transaction on my end. The motorcycle is in a secure storage facility with 24 hour surveillance in Brooklyn, New York. Potential buyers are welcome to contact me with any questions via eBay or on my cell at 917 797 3380. A viewing can be arranged if you have a sincere interest in purchasing the motorcycle. A reasonable reserve has been set and a Buy It Now price has been placed on the listing for those of you who would like to avoid the auction process. Best of luck with your bidding and, most importantly, have fun! On Sep-12-11 at 17:51:45 PDT, seller added the following information:
