1985 Honda Gold Wing

UP FOR AUCTION: 1985 HONDA GOLDWING GL1200 INTERSTATE THIS MOTORCYCLE HAS ONLY 17,275 ORIGIONAL MILES ON IT. DID I MENTION, ONLY 17,275 MILES!!! I am the second owner of it. The origional owner put it in a ditch and was going to junk it. At the time it only had just over 15,000 miles on it. I thought, it is a Honda, and they never die! So I bought it and rebuilt it. I tried to use all OEM parts while working on it. Here are just a few replacements: Windshield Mirrors Front Face Plate Front Fender & Guard (included extender, which it did not have) Headlight assembly Lower Headlight Fairing cover Right Engine guard Both Upper and Lower Chrome Wrap around guards (for Trunk & Saddle bags) Handle Bars/ Grips/ both Brake & Clutch Levers There are other minor things (of which you are welcome to ask). I have also replaced the Front Fork Seals/ Spark Plugs/ Upgraded to K&N Air Filter/ Front Brake Pads. Also replaced both tires with DUNLOP ELITE 3's that now only have just over 300 miles on them. The bike also comes with the both the origional Manuel & Honda Tool Kit. Now for the bad (if you want to call it such :-)): The Right Saddle Bag & Back Right Upper corner of the Trunk still have scratchs (I have found that with a quick compounding and then wax, it hides a quite a bit). The Front Fairing right below the Headlight assembly is the one crack that I have not had fixed yet (I tried to get a good picture). I have found a few body shops that have told me that it can be repaired. I have spent alot of time on this motorcycle and I hope it shows!! :-) I just don't have the time to ride it and would like to see it with someone who can enjoy it! :-) I do have this listed locally and do reserve the right to end the auction if a local buyer comes forward. I would also be willing to help ship the bike, but all at the winning bidders expense and set up. I put a new battery in it 3 years ago, but, it doesn't get out much and found at the begining of this season I had to set it on the charger for about an hour, then started great. It is an older bike, so she does need her warm up time. As for the carbs, it needs a good run. Typical for the year, it gives a very light smoke out the tailpipes for the first 20 to 30 seconds of starting after she sits for a long period, but then fine & clear. In my opinion they (the Carb's) could use a good blowing out, only because it hasnt gotten the use like it should :-)" On Sep-13-11 at 09:07:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I have noticed ALOT of users watching this motorcycle. Just a heads up, $2800 is a baseline for the price (I don't believe in putting a low price to start with a reserve of what I want anyway). Any other Goldwings of this "era" that are listed (and in this or near this shape) have close to triple (or alot more) the miles that this has (run a search and check). :-)
