Vehicle Detail
buyitnowpaymelots Store Normal 0 House of Mouse Racing Consignments: See www.houseofmouseracing.com for info on other vehicles currently being consigned, including a 1957 Chevy, 1974 Triple White Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, 1972 Mustang, 2001 Harley Superglide and 2008 Orange County Choppers "Heat of the Battle II" custom theme motorcycle. Just consigned from a widow is this classic 1972 Ford Mustang Mach I with a completely rebuilt V-8 351ci Cleveland engine, power steering and power brakes. Although the car has been in storage for the last couple of years, it has been driven from time to time to keep it operational. It is in mostly in factory original appearance with only a few items changed. It runs nice and drives. This classic car would make a nice starter project for someone or a nice cruiser. The car has a low price with a low reserve to protect some of its value. This Mustang runs and drives and can be driven to its new home. Standard and Optional Equipment: 351 v-8, power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes and front spoiler. The Drivetrain is a completely rebuilt 351ci Cleveland engine (have receipts) with 2-barrel carb which runs great, idles nice and doesn’t over heat or even seem to leak. The cam is a hydraulic tappet cam, Summit part # SUM-5200 – 262 duration/.484 lift. Provides plenty of power. The FMX transmission (we believe) operates and shifts as it should. No problems in the rear-end either. Brakes work great. Steering needs a bit of work since it pulls to the left a bit. It’s very driveable and can be driven to its new home. The Body is for the most part straight with a couple of minor dents. The floor pans are original and in nice shape as is the frame, no signs of repairs. The car was repainted and buffing was started but never finished at some point in the past. I want to mention that the pictures do not show the full extent of some visible signs where body work was performed, mostly to the usual places at the bottom edges and other areas that need attention. There are several areas on the inner body which have had patch panels and repairs made. Most of the repairs are in the typical areas (wheel wells, trunk drop offs, etc) but are not large, major rust hole repairs. The car is a driver-quality survivor. Most of the trim pieces are original and have some degree of pitting. Rear bumper is two years old. Window channels look good but some of the chrome trim attachment studs are missing - preventing the chrome trim from being installed correctly. Glass is good though the windshield has a 1-inch-long rub mark from the wipers. Back glass leaks a bit at the passenger side bottom corner. Doors, trunk and hood operate as they should with matching keys. Weatherstrippings are good to fair. See list below of all the new parts installed over the years. The Interior is black and in good shape. Seats are nice and soft, and door panels, carpet, and headliner look to have been replaced in the past. Dash has just a couple of minor marks but no cracks. All the dash controls work including the clock. All windows, door locks, doors and trunk operate as they should. Rear sail panels need to be replaced. The radio and power antenna work. Many New Parts: The previous owner invested $8,000+ in the car although the reserve is less than that amount. The motor is completely rebuilt with new bearings, cam, timing chain and gaskets. Other new parts include a lot of new weatherstripping, belts, ignition, rear chrome bumper, heater core, some brake parts such as rotors, hoses, pads, wheel cylinders, proportioning valve and master cylinder, carpet, newer battery and newer tires. Have all receipts for new parts. Other Info: Car comes with factory keys, clear Ohio title, and some extra parts. Current odometer shows 41,305. Since this is an estate auction and title issued through probate, there is no mileage listed on the title nor is it "check off" for exceeded so the miles will be written in as 41,305 "actual miles." There are some extra parts in the trunk - hubcaps and chrome window trims - front and rear. Current bids are only several hundred dollars away from the Reserve! Again, if it doesn't meet reserve we will work with the highest bidder to make the deal!!
