Vehicle Detail
Here is a 1941 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup that I started restoring nearly five years ago but due to health and financial problems I've had to admit to myself that I'm never going to complete this project. This was originally a Kansas truck and was not rusted out anywhere.( Most of these had rust in the door bottoms, cab corners, belt line and header above the windshield.) Truck was stripped down to the frame, frame was wire brushed, painted with POR 15 rust inhibitor and top coated with black enamel. Frame had only light surface rust and was in very good shape. The cab has been remounted on the frame and the engine, transmission, brake/clutch pedals, master cylinder, radiator, etc. mounted. The front clip, bed, running boards etc. have all been partially bolted together to show that it is all here and will need to be permanently installed by the buyer. Truck has been converted to 12 volt (generator, regulator, lights, turn signals etc.) and has a NEW WIRING HARNESS installed. Interior is mostly done, except for painting. The seat has been reupholstered. Dash, glove box, gauge cluster and windshield crank-out have all been refurbished. Heater, defroster, and blower all work. Even the cigarette lighter works. Windshield frame, glass, and crankout regulator are in very good condition. Door glass isn't cracked but has some discoloration around the edges. Rear glass is missing but I have a broken one that could be used as a pattern. (flat glass that can be cut at any auto glass retailer) Engine is an original 216 and runs good with no knocks or rattling. Gaskets and seals have been replaced and it doesn't have any leaks. Engine does smoke a little when first started but not a lot. Transmission is an original granny 4-speed and whines in the lower gears (like most of these old trannys do) New or reproduction parts included with the auction include: Hubcaps, beauty rings, bed boards, bed strips and bolts, door windlace/seals, Rear fender braces, tail lights and brackets, owners manual and shop manual. I have a clear title. in my name, for this truck Truck starts, runs, drives and stops and can be driven onto trailer or transport. (Because this is only partially bolted back together and has a very low top end speed. I would not suggest you attempt to drive it home) I have driven it around this small village I live in but have not had it on the highway. This would be a great old truck to finish as is or update with a newer drive train. Vehicle is located in Westphalia, Missouri 65085 (about 15 miles southeast of Jefferson City) Low opening bid and very low reserve price.( reserve is less than I could make by parting this out) vehicle is sold AS-IS and with local pick up only. (pick up or shipping arrangement will be the sole responsibility of the buyer) I require $500 deposit with PAYPAL within 48 hours of auction ending and the balance IN CASH at time of pick up. Vehicle to be picked up within one week unless other arrangements are made prior to auction ending. Any questions, email me using the "ASK SELLER" link on the listing.
