Background: This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is an excellent running project car with tons of performance parts for a great price. I bought this car originally in North Carolina after a deployment to Iraq in 2004. The owner in North Carolina installed the SS clone badges, hood, etc. and custom interior which can be seen in the pictures. After purchasing the car, I started the process of turning the car into a daily-driver/pro-touring car. The bottom line up front is that I have a very fast Chevelle, but I have to sell the car to support my family. Please read carefully for all the details. Car Features: The most dramatic changes that I made to the car include completely redoing the suspension, brakes, and steering. In 2004, I installed a new suspension from Global West that included tubular upper and lower control arms, new springs, and adjustable QAL shocks at all four corners. Also, I installed a larger anti-sway bar and stronger tie rod sleeves. Along with the suspension, I upgraded to power brakes with Wilwood 13 inch racing disc brakes in the front and 12 inch disc brakes in the rear. The steering was also upgraded with a quick ratio steering box and remote reservoir from Detroit Speed and Engineering. I also upgraded to Weld Racing wheels and new tires in 2004. This car really does handle, brake, and steer like a modern sports car. Under the hood, I had a 383 cubic inch motor built for this Chevelle. The motor has a SCAT forged crank, rods, and pistons with a Comp Cams solid lifter camshaft. The small block has an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads and intake manifold. Up top, it has a Carter four barrel carburetor with a K&N air filter. The motor is wired up with a MSD 6AL ignition, coil, and distributer. For exhaust, the Chevelle has ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp headers and dual Flowmasters. The transmission is a Turbo 400 that was rebuilt in 2004 and the rear-end is a 12 bolt with 4.1:1 ratio. This car has tons of horsepower, sounds great, and can really get up and move. The body does need some work (This is the part I couldn’t get to). As with many Chevelles, there is rust that needs attention at the base of the rear windshield, trunk pan, rear quarter panels, and along the drip rails. Please look at the pictures as I have tried to get clear pictures of all the areas that need attention. Also, a previous owner moved the battery to the trunk and installed an aluminum radiator. As far as the interior, the owner I bought the car from installed a custom interior. The dash is aluminum with gauges and has a switch panel (no radio or A/C). The wiring harness has seen better days, but the carpet, seats, and headliner are in decent shape. All in all, this vehicle runs great but needs some attention to the body. Don't expect to fly in and drive this vehicle across country. Please plan on having the vehicle shipped or trailered back home. I am not interested in trades. Pricing: I am fully aware that my Chevelle has body issues and a non-standard interior, but I have nearly $12,000 in performance parts on the car. I have over $6,000 in suspension and brakes on this car. With that said, I have set the reserve on my car at only $5,500 because I need this car to sell to support my family.
