This car was purchased new by my father in 1997. In April, 2010 my father sold the Ford to me. The T-bird has been driven by my daughter who has now moved to Boston and has no need for a vehicle. In June, 2010 my daughter was involved in a small hit and run accident with the car. Another diver clipped the right side of the T-bird and took off. The minor damage is visible in the pictures. The car was driving well till about a month ago when the check engine light came on. The T-bird can be driven but the engine accelerates as if only 4 of the 8 cylinders are functioning. The dealer wants $200 to diagnose the problem. Our family is down to two drivers with four cars. There is no incentive for me to hand over my money to the dealer to get the car fixed. This is a great car for someone that wants to spend the time fixing this baby or needs the parts.
