This bike was restored about ten years ago by one of the world's finest 1970's Suzuki restoration artists who's studio is located in southeastern Missouri. It has matching frame and engine VIN numbers. The 1971 Suzuki TM400 was the first year for the TM400 and also the first year for any production Suzuki motocross bike. It is incredibly rare to find today. This bike is an extremely special restoration with lots of time given to each and every surface, part, nut, bolt, washer, everything! Everything on this bike is new, NOS, painted, chrome plated, zinc plated, and polished beautifully. The paint is as slick as glass, color sanded and hand polished; and the paint under the bike is as slick as the rest. The number plates, fenders and all plastics are excellent. The exhaust pipe is a custom one-of-a-kind hand formed stainless steel pipe. The engine is clean as a pin inside and out. No cracks, broken bosses, or broken fins anywhere. The engine has been rebuilt with new crank bearings and seals. All genuine Suzuki parts. It has a NOS cylinder with a new standard Wiseco piston kit. The oil injection is hooked up and working properly. The engine starts and runs as good as it looks. The tires are vintage period new. This is one of the most highly collectible Suzuki bikes and would be a great asset to your collection.
