This was the Chrysler to own back in the day, the most expensive and luxurious Chrysler they made. Less than 500 of these were built in a special collaboration with Chrysler and Hurst. The car features a numbers matching 440 TNT motor, fiberglass hood, fiberglass deck lid with integrated spoiler, power windows, leather seats from an Imperial, and only 79k original miles. The car has EVERY receipt from new and has a fascinating history. We also believe this to be the lowest option Chrysler 300 Hurst built, all of the options it has were standard in the Hurst package. The Hurst was bought new from Crosstown Motors in Edmonton, AB in 1970. It came on a truck with 5 other Hurst's at the same time. The owner was a bit of a nomad traveling constantly for a job and the car went from Alberta to Georgia to Hawaii to Louisiana and back to Alberta (we have all the license plates from those states). In about 1980 the owner was sent overseas for work and as part of his pay package the company agreed to store the Hurst at the Port of Long Beach in Long Beach, California. Long story short it sat there until about 2000 when the son-in-law of the owner brought it up to Seattle, WA where it sat until we uncovered it. This is one of the best documented Mopar we have ever had. It comes with the build sheet, fender tag, warranty sheet, original invoice from the dealer, and it is a #'s matching vehicle. The owner has every receipt since new and most of the problems with the car it had from the start. It includes several letters to and from Chrysler complaining about the warped fiberglass and leaky front and rear windows. The car had leaky windows from new which is why the front and rear window have some primer on them; it was a dealer ship trying to fix the problem and didn't. In Long Beach it was taken out of its storage unit in the late 90's and has some damage from that including some dents on the side of the car as well as the roof. The car is very solid with only some minor rust in the passenger 1/4 panel on top of the wheel well, a couple of pin holes in the trunk, and some other surface rust here and there. This is a very solid car top to bottom. The 440 HP motor runs but it will definitely need a rebuild, it's just been sitting too long. It runs well enough to get on and off a trailer. As mentioned it is #'s matching motor and trans and is in very original condition other than the added aftermarket AC. The carb still has all of the solenoids on it as well as the original metal line from the carb down. The brakes only work temporarily (MC leaks) so it will need to be transported to it's new home. Please e-mail (tom at rocket resto dot com) or call us (360-705-0943) with any questions or to set up an appointment to see the car. The car is at Rocket Restorations located in Olympia, Washington, which is about an hour south of Seattle, Washington. Every effort has been made to make an accurate description of this car, but some things were probably missed. This will obviously need to be transported. We will help in any way to transport the car but the cost is on the buyer. We accept Money Orders, Cashier's Check, Wire Transfer or Cash in Person. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be made within 48 hours of the auction ending. Payment is to be made within fourteen days of the auction finishing.
