Vehicle Detail

1966 PLYMOUTH VALIANT 2DR SLANT-6 I6 I AM SELLING DUE TO RELOCATION... I purchased the car in 2007... we cleaned the car inside and out.... gave it a 1/2-455 tune-up and we were able to get it running, but did not drive it.... since then, nothing has been done to the car.... previous owner was original owner who drove the Valiant its 1st 10,000 miles in California after which, in 1967, he moved to Ohio and drove it solely his golf course until his death in 2005... On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being show car and 1 being parts car, I would rate it a 5, which in my opinion is perfect for restoration. The car came from California, where it was driven on the for only two years. For the rest of its use, it was driven on a golf course in Ohio - that is the reason for the lack of corrosion because the car was never exposed to salt. The Pepsi Blue paint is in rather good shape for its age of over 10 years. A proper buffing would return the shine. The interior requires re-upholstery, the interior metal trim requires repainting, and the dash and doors need attention. As I mention in the description. I did get this car running the day I brought it home 5 years ago. I drove it up and down my driveway. The brakes definitely require attention, from pads to lines to master cylinder. I would drive it on the road without a full brake job... The engine is a slant-6, supposedly a rare engine with a predisposition for long life. If I recall correctly, the slant 6 is the smaller version. The car has less than 70k miles, 60 of which were driven on the golf course. The engine definitely needs rebuilt for optimal performance; however, a proper tune-up with the works will get it running. I never raised the car to look at the undercarriage, but it looked rather clean. The tires were new when I bought the car. The exterior bright-work is not so bright and all of it requires refinishing. To my knowledge there are no major issues with the frame. On Sep-03-11 at 11:57:54 PDT, seller added the following information: There was no key to the trunk so we popped the lock today and found the trunk to be in pristine condition with spare tire intact. I have a photo if you would like. Please contact me with request for photo because I unable to add any more photos this late in the auction. -JackOn Sep-03-11 at 13:56:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Passenger door is stuck. It needs a little TLC to pry it open. - JackOn Sep-03-11 at 17:42:52 PDT, seller added the following information: TLC was effective. Passenger door is open.
