Vehicle Detail

Thank you for considering my 1974 Ford LTD Brougham 2 door. It absolutely breaks my heart to sell this car, but the economy has left me no choice. I simply can no longer enjoy this car like I used to. This car is a great driver and I’ve even taken it to many car shows where it gets a lot of attention. Everyone has a childhood story about Ford LTD’s, but you just don’t see the 1973-1974 two door body style too much anymore. This LTD comes with the original 400 V-8, 2bbl Venturi carburetor and a C6 automatic transmission. The odometer shows just less than 56,000 miles. Although I have no documentation to prove the mileage, the condition of the original interior leaves no doubt in my mind that this is correct. I am the fourth owner of this car. It was sold new in Indiana and later lived in Muskegon, Michigan before settling in Wisconsin. Please note that there is very little rust on this car and it still wears its original paint. The car does have numerous, small dings mostly contained on the passenger side front fender and two on the hood. This car is so original that I just did not want to restore it. The vinyl top is also original and is showing NO signs of rust underneath. The trunk, engine compartment and underbody are in very nice shape as well. Mechanically, the car is very nice. It has new shocks all around with air shocks in the back allowing you to adjust to any height you wish. I also have a pair of new, OEM rear shocks that will come with the car. The LTD has new brakes all around as well as a newer radiator, water pump, hoses, belts, alternator, ignition, rebuilt carburetor, valve cover gaskets, transmission filter and gasket, power steering hoses, heater core, dual exhaust with FloPro mufflers, full tune up and fuel tank with sending unit. The tires have less than 3000 miles on them. The “poverty” hubcaps and trim rings that are on the car now are period Ford correct, but I will also include the original “turbine” wheel covers that are in excellent shape, (see pics). The car did have factory air conditioning but all of the components had been removed from previous owner and I do not have the parts. While sitting, the car does leak a very minimal amount of oil, but not enough to make me have to add any between oil changes. In typical “old Ford fashion”, there is a leaky exhaust manifold on the passenger side. This makes a “ticking” noise until the exhaust warms up and then it’s fine. The original rubber weather stripping around the door windows is getting dry rotted but does not leak in the rain- only in high pressure car washes. Although this is a Brougham model, this car has no power options other than steering and brakes. The original stereo is in place but not working. I installed a new Pioneer AM/FM/CD player discreetly under the dash with a remote for easy use. The clock keeps accurate time even when I store the car over the winter months. All gauges and idiot lights work as well as the dash lights, blinkers, wipers, brake lights, license plate light, dome light, reverse lights, etc. The seats are beautiful with no rips or stains anywhere. The dash is almost perfect with no cracks or discoloration. The carpet is in very nice shape. The LTD comes with the owner’s manual and a new spare tire. I am very picky about my vehicles and overall this is just a nice, original car that I would not hesitate to drive anywhere. This is a large, heavy car so please don’t look for 0-60 MPH in record time. But it will cruise smoothly at 100+ MPH all day. It’s also quite “thirsty” like any other big car from the 70’s era. Anything that I felt would make for unreliable driving, has been replaced whether it was working or not. That being said, of course I have to add in this listing that the car is 37 years old and manmade, so things could go wrong with it. I encourage you to look at my feedback and feel confident that I am representing this car as honestly as possible. I am not out to make a profit on this car. It is insured for $4500 and it has a clear title in my name. Please feel free to ask any questions before bidding. My name is Scott and you can contact me through EBay or reach me at 414-331-7187. If you get my voicemail, leave a message and I will contact you promptly. Happy bidding. This is a no reserve auction and a $500 dollar down payment will be required within 48 hours after auctions end. Remaining balance will be due at time of pick up in the form of cash or cashier’s check. Shipping will need to be arranged by the buyer, but I will be present at time of pick up to assist in loading. Due to age of car and the fact that I am a private seller, this car does not come with a warranty of any kind.
