This auction is for a 1968 Series 1-1/2 Jaguar E Type XKE Roadster. This vehicle is a true “Barn Find”, stored in a barn in Erie, PA since 1978. It has 44,068 original miles, matching numbers and is complete less the Bonnet balancing brackets. The original owner removed the doors, front calipers, brake and clutch cylinders but all parts are included with the car. I began restoration last year by removing and disassembling the bonnet, built a roll-around stand for the bonnet,(included), removed the heater box, radiator and several engine accessories in preparation to remove the engine. All parts are included and well organized along with over 400 pictures. The body has all the normal rust issues for a jag including, rusted inner sills, floors, trunk floor, rear floor to upright panels to mention the standards. The original owner replaced the outer sills and repaired and primed the doors. The build date was November 9th 1967 , shipped November 24, 1967. It still has the last 1978 PA inspection sticker on the windscreen. I checked the engine mechanics, added fresh oil and coolant. The engine runs but should have a complete restoration along with the rest of the vehicle. I have a clear PA title in my name as well as the owners manual and a 1970Bentley workshop manual.
