Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a well running year 2000 Triumph Trophy 1200cc Motorcycle in the factory color of Pacific Blue. I am selling the bike due to a back injury from a falling tree last fall. If you have any additional questions other than what I cover below please feel free to email me. I have owned this bike since August of 2006 and have put on all but the original 5,000 miles. We have used the bike to what she is best suited for; long distance touring. I would not recommend this bike as a commuter bike unless you have all freeway between you and work. As with all triumphs she runs fast with a throttle-less running idle at about 28 mph. She sports a four cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The Bike: She has factory equipment including two removable saddlebags, kickstand / clutch interlock, 6 speed transmission, clock, fairing with windscreen and two glove compartments. She starts and runs well. Last use was a trip to Key West last fall before my injury. All maintenance has been performed either at the dealership (Triumph Detroit) or myself for oil changes using Triumph supplied Mobil 1 special formulated oil for the Triumph model line. She runs on Premium fuel and has Avon sport touring tires. Add-ons: The bike has a Triumph rack mounted to the rear of the bike. The factory seat was replaced with the Corbin leather gunslinger seat you see pictured. The seat has a removable / adjustable passenger backrest. My wife found the original seat to uncomfortable but likes this seat very much. I have installed a 12 V outlet enclosed in the left glove box. I use this to connect my automotive garmin when traveling (garmin not included). Extras: Comes with the following:Triumph factory cover for the Trophy model in excellent condition. Two Triumph luggage bags that are shaped to the hardshell side bags (allows you to pack you bag in the house and have the bags still fit in the saddlebags) in excellent condition. Two keys and factory key tag required for ordering additional keys.Triumph factory service manual In running condition, runs well, new battery that I will install before you pickup. Idles at 1200 rpm and starts on first press of the electronic starter. Runs quite for a machine this fast. Stops well at any speed. The center of gravity is very low allowing for excellent manuevering and ease in turning. I previously owned a Goldwing and this bike outperforms in every category. BMW may be the only bike better suited to touring but cannot touch the cost of the Triumph. The chain is tight, well oiled and in good condition. I have had replaced the chain, rear brakes and ignition coil. Front brakes were good at last inspection. Bike fell over while not in motion once and broke right turn signal and left damage as seen in pictures to front right fairing and rear right saddle bag. Light was replaced by Triumph. Scratches to fairing were painted with Trimuph factory paint and clear coat. Fairing was not cracked, only minor surface scrapes. She will need tires for next riding season. Triumph no longer makes this model and will no longer make 4 cyclinder motorcycles (focusing on the twins and triples of Hinkleys past). This is unfortunate because this is an unltimate touring machine. Fast, quite and dependable. I really can't say enough about this bike. Winning bidder will get a great ride they will enjoy for years. I am certain that I have omitted something you may want to know so feel free to email me, I will help out to the best of my ability. Shipping / Pickup Shipping plans would be yours to discover. I purchased the bike across country and rode her home and can help to that end. I would be happy to meet you at the Marquette Airport to allow you the same experience. If this is in your plans the airport designation is MQT. I have a trailer and would be willing to meet within reason. Again if you have a thought on that let me know and we will discuss before auction close. You can take a test drive by emailing me in advance if you are in the area. I live centrally in Michigans Upper Peninsula. If you wish to take advantage of the fall weather and a leaf tour home I am willing to hold the bike for up to 30 days. I require a $500 deposit via paypal once bidding is ended. The balane can be paid by paypal or cash at pickup. I have a reserve on the bike well below low blue book and without ackowledging extras. This will be a very good bike for the winner at what should be a very reasonalbe price. Good luck and don't hesitate to contact me with questions. Thank you for your consideration. On Aug-26-11 at 14:25:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Ammendment added on Friday 8/26 5:12PM EST. Thanks all for bidding. With the buyers permission I have made an appointment at Triumph Detroit for Tuesday Aug 30 for a tune-up at my expense. I will also have an overall review done and fix anything the mechanics find also at my expense. Estimated time frame from Triumph Detroit is Between Thursday and Saturday return. I have enjoyed this bike for many years and want the same experience for the winner. I can no longer ride so I will trailer the bike which also keeps mileage the same. All listed offers to meet the seller stand with an inclusion of meeting in the greater Detroit area for pickup. This is a "thanks" for the bidding your doing on my bike. The winner does have a choice in the matter just thought I would throw in another freebee. Bid with confidence.
