Description You are looking at a nice original survivor 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa finished in beautiful Guards Red. Please scroll down and look at the 254 photos of this iconic automobile. If you have trouble viewing the photos, please try a different browser. Condition Details: We know the history back to 1998 on this car. This car started off or at least spent most of it's life as a west coast car and is a nice rust free survivor. We looked for major collision damage and aside from a few scrapes, marks and dings, we could not find any evidence as such. It appears to us as having been repainted, at least in spots. The paint appears to be fairly professional, although The good news is we could not find any rust on this beauty and believe it was stored winters. There was a bit of battery leakage as with many of these but nothing that ate through the metal. Mechanically, the engine runs extremely well, and it had a new clutch assembly in 2000 or 2001, and at that time, many other small parts were replaced including the belts and a number of hoses, and the oil return tubes were replaced with collapsing ones. The brakes were also redone back then. It shifts, starts and stops well. The stereo works, the lights and gauges work except the clock is intermittent. The A/C is all there but does not function. We drove this car and are a PCA member, so we know the car and what we are looking at. The Carrera tail is a factory Porsche part, but we are unsure if it was on the car when new. Cosmetically, it is in great shape for the year of automobile but does have cosmetic flaws from use and age. Scroll down and view all 250 + photos to see the flaws. We have documented the car with the many, many photos. It runs and drives well and would be a great driver for the local car show. This is the real deal pinnacle 1984 Porsche 911. What does the car need? The seats do have a few small seam tears, the glass is good and appears original, but the corner of the windshield (lower driver's side) is fogging a bit. These cars are getting really hard to find, especially with all the color changes and mods. Best of all, there is NO reserve. We will let the market determine the value of this classic.
