Vehicle Detail
Hello, up for bids is my 1951 Buick Special 40. This car is awesome! It's been tastefully chopped and had the B pillars slanted. The roof was done right. There has been no body work to the chop yet so the new owner can see that it was done correctly and not all hacked up and hidden by bondo. The body itself is very straight and solid. Floors and trunk were patched about 3 years ago and also very solid. Drivetrain is all original. It's a straight 8 with a 3 speed (three on the tree) Suspension is original with cut springs all around. If you don't know a lot about these Buicks, they use coil springs at all 4 corners. The rear axle has trailing arms and coil springs so this car is super easy to put air-ride on with little fabrication. It runs and drives smooth. Transmission shifts good and all gears work as they should. The brakes are all in great shape and even the foot operated parking brake works good. It's still using the 6 volt system and has a newer battery. All lights and turn signals work as does the horn. There is no side glass but the original glass does come with the car. Some of it is cracked but mainly in good shape. Windshield is plexi right now and will need glass installed longterm. I've been rolling it this way though as it doesn't bother me. Interior consists of white vinyl front buckets and rear wrap around seat from a 60's T-Bird Landau convertible. The front seats are bolted down but he rear is just sitting in place. It does come with the Landau console along with other interior trim pieces. Car comes with a ton of extra parts including most of the original stainless/chrome trim, garnish moldings, and a lot of tune-up parts (distributor cap, wires, points, etc.). Most of the grille has been powder coated black (previous owner did that) I removed the powder coat from the front bumper so it is bare metal. I was going to do the same to everything else and just clear coat it. Wheels are brand new along with the tires. This is your chance to own a cool chopped 50's custom that runs and drives for little money. The hard work is already done and just needs a new owner to take it to the next level. I have too many other projects right now and can't spend the time on this car and need the room. I'm not interested in trades of any kind. Car comes with a clear title. It's located 20 miles north of Cincinnati, OH. I can assist with loading onto a trailer or transport if needed. Please email me with any questions.
