Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 House of Mouse Racing Consignments. Please see our website for information on current and future consignment vehicles: http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. Just consigned from an estate sale is this very nice, partially-restored, 1968 Ford Mustang with a 289 ci engine, power steering, power brakes and 5-lug wheels. It is in mostly in factory original appearance (with only a few items changed) and has great street presence. Although the car has been in storage for the last couple of years, it was driven from time to time to keep it operational and it runs and drives beautifully with plenty of power. It would make an excellent cruiser as it stands or could restored completely to show quality since a lot of investment has already been made. This car is road ready and can be driven to its new home. This is a rare and nicely optioned, classic car with a low reserve to protect some of its value. It’s a great opportunity to step into a classic Mustang at a great price. If the auction does not meet the reserve we will work with the highest bidder to try to close the sale. Normal 0 If you are requesting additional pictures please send me your email address. Ebay will not let me add any more pictures to the ad. The previous owner invested over $15,000 in new parts although the reserve is considerably lower than that amount. An ongoing restoration began in 2002 and the car was driven throughout this time. We have the owner’s receipts, paperwork and notes for all of the work done. New parts include: Most of the trim. Most of the electrical (electrical controls such as headlight switches, neutral safety switch, courtesy lamp switches, fog lamps, etc.). Most of the braking system (brake shoes, brake lines, master cylinder, etc.). Most of the fuel system (sender, lines, pump, etc.), Seats (covers, cushions, trim parts, etc.). Seals, gaskets, hoses, ignition, transmission filter, u-joints, coil springs, exhaust system, sway bar kits, windshield, battery, heater core, bumpers, grill & assorted bezels & hardware, weatherstripping, steering parts (ball joints, tie rods, power steering pump, etc.), pulleys, tires and much more. The Body is nice, shiny, and straight with a good driver-quality paint job. The car is very clean since it was a southern car. The body panels appear to be mostly original to the car. The body received a basic paint job some years back which, despite a couple of chips, is stable, has depth and is not faded or peeling. No major dents or rust-thru but there is evidence of some rust starting on both doors and in front of the driver side quarter panel. There are a few defects here and there in the paint job. It has a nice cruiser appearance. Most of the trim pieces are new with a mix of nice used pieces with only a couple of small dents in some of the window trim. It’s basically a partially restored survivor and could be used as a daily driver or restored to show quality without the major expenses of rust repair. Window channels look good as does the glass (no cracks or sanding marks). Back glass leaks a bit at the driverside top corner. Doors, trunk and hood operate as they should with matching keys. Weatherstripping and rubber are new. The Interior is restored and is in very nice condition with the seats, door panels, carpet, headliner all having been replaced. Also all new wood grain was installed on the dash. Dash has no cracks and is not warped. All the dash controls work including the clock. All windows, door locks, doors and trunk operate as they should. Standard and Optional Equipment on this car are... 289 v-8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, fog lamps, rear sway bar and 5-lug rims. The Drivetrain is a 289ci engine (not original) which runs great, idles nice and doesn’t overheat. The top half of the engine was rebuilt. The transmission operates and shifts as it should. I believe this is the original transmission along with the original rear end. No problems in the rear end. Brakes work great and steering is tight. It’s very driveable and can be driven to its new home. The Undercarriage is in very nice condition too. Floor pans are in very nice shape as is the frame. The only work performed here is that the back seat floor pans were replaced. Frame looks great with nothing bent, damaged or repaired.
