But their high output engines in the GS model 350 were not only competitive in power and speed but also in aggressive looks. Most sophisticated collectors today are preferring the looks of the Buick GS 350 over the equivalent Chevelle or GTO, obviously taste is up to the individual but any of these muscle cars are great collectibles but there seems to be far fewer Buick GS’s then any of the other GM rivals. Keep in mind that the GS designation that stands for “Gran Sport” also used also used for full size Buicks and the Riviera and in each case are always fast cars that have become collectibles today. The nice thing about the Buick GS 350 convertible is that it not only has the best power ratio but also handles the best because of its lighter weight and shorter wheel base. The gentleman that has this car for sale and is using the services of MissChiTown has given us a complete description and the pictures speak for themselves. This is a well sorted car and stands tall in any car show because of its condition, color and accessories. Absolutely stunning car in what we think is a fabulous color scheme of bronze exterior with pearl white interior and white soft top. Take a look at this car from any angle, even the highly detailed engine compartment and under side of the car show fabulous. This car was restored three years ago and has not seen rain or snow since. This is a matching numbers car, and the odometer reads approximately 76,000 miles that are believed to be actual miles. The power top and mechanics of top work like new. The interior, carpet, top were all replaced with NOS type material. All chrome was done at the time of the restoration. The car has power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seats and get this, ice cold air…yes, we repeat – ice cold air. Now for the radio, it is a stock radio but has had its internal workings modified to stereo and also accepts I-pods! The factory scoop on the hood is not decorative but is fully factory functional as you can see with the hood open and the foam seals that go down to the air cleaner. Buick was very proud of this feature and it is claimed to add an extra 10 or 15 horse power to the already powerful engine. The Buick GS is competitive with an equivalent GTO and Chevelle and it has been reported in some road reports that it will turn the quarter in the upper 16.0 seconds. It has also been reported that even with a heavy foot the GS Buick convertible could get something near 15 mpg, not bad for a muscle car of the day. If you are looking for an extremely flashy car that has an excellent restoration and all the power equipment that you could ever ask for including power steering, power brakes, power seats and power windows and factory air conditioning, this car could easily satisfy your requirements. Remember that a Buick GS is much rarer then any of the other equivalent GTO’s or Chevelle’s. If you are a collector with a large collection or a Buick collector who needs to fill in the gap for the 1971 Buick GS convertible or an individual that is going to just have one car we should let you know that we have not seen a Buick of this model in this nice of condition in years. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx There is no warranty implied or otherwise. Car is sold as is, where is and shown. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING! Any questions need to be asked BEFORE bidding by calling 847-774-4857.
