Otherwise, I will be forced to cancel your bid. Now for the more important stuff: During the time since the end of the first auction, the mileage has gone from 35,343 to 36,323. This change was came about because I had to attend the funeral of a family member up north. Other than the change in mileage, the car is still the same. I have to add that during the 900+ mile trip, the car performed beautifully and flawlessly. The winning bidder can rest easy that she is ready to drive anywhere. Purchased from a car collector and member of the Cadillac/LaSalle Club, I have, for your consideration, a 1989 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance. It is fully loaded with all of the Cadillac options including the RARE astroroof (power sunroof). Interior: Gorgeous, covered in wood, leather, chrome, and those little tiny Cadillac emblems strewn all about the interior tastefully along with the "Cadillac" and "Brougham d'Elegance" chrome script on the dash and the "d'Elegance" embroidery on the doors. The dark blue, leather d'Elegance pillow-topped seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat on. I don’t think the seats in a new Cadillac are as comfortable and relaxing as these. You feel like you have been wrapped in a cloud and floating on air as you ride down the highway. The interior is free of rips and tears. Its condition is a testament to the care the car has been given in her 22 years. The huge astroroof is a rare option on these Broughams. When opened, it’s like looking at the sky at an observatory. With the exception of the power antenna, all of the power options on the car are in good working order. The antenna remains in the up position. This was a typical issue with these cars. Exterior: With the exception of a few minor gravel chips, the Glacier Blue exterior is gorgeous. It holds a deep shine that truly stands out. The rear and front of this Cadillac are classic. The large chrome taillights and the shape of the back of the car add to its elegant style. The front is another great part of the car. The hood features two chrome lines coming to a point in the front, therefore drawing your eyes to the standing hood crest. The body is straight and rust-free. The chrome is in excellent condition. No pitting or rusting on these bumpers. It has always been garage kept and has only seen rain once in the last seven years. Every inch of the undercarriage of the car was painstakingly undercoated by the previous owner. It is extremely clean. He was obviously a meticulous man . According to his wife and daughter, he attended Cadillac events with the car and received trophies. No doubt a fitting tribute to the car itself and to his hard work and care. Engine/Transmission: The 5.0 liter 307ci V8 under the hood is smooth and quiet and moves the car well. It does not leak, smoke, burn any oil or have any abnormal rattles or shakes. The transmission also shifts smoothly and with overdrive, it allows for excellent fuel mileage. And if the 307 ever needs servicing, there's lots of room and parts are reasonable and plentiful. The car is also equipped with a factory security system and the optional automatic day/night rear view mirror. Comments: If you're a fan of the older Cadillac styling and don't want to have to restore one, this '89 is the one for you. It carries the style Cadillac is famous for with the dependability of a newer car. I truly love this car, but I rarely drive it.
