This is a very solid car . Could use paint due to its age and needs a convertible top kit replaced. Top frame is in good condition and goes up and down as it should . As you can see from the pictures the supports rails, frame head and heat channels are all in great condition. The inner fenders and bumper mount areas are good as well. This is a car that is driving and running and just came off the road due to registration expired. Mechanics are in good shape and the car drives well. Car is sold as is where is just due to the fact it is a classic car. I would not be afraid to drive this great little beetle anywhere. Car is sold with a bill of sale as Maine does not issue titles for cars over 15 years old.On Aug-03-11 at 09:33:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I just added up the receipts of work on the car since March 2010 and they total $1916. All repairs done at a reputable German Car repair. Tires Rear Brake Shoes and wheel cylinders and brake lines Front wheel cylinders, shoes and lines Front wheel bearing Tune up -plugs, wires, points fuel filter and Cap Ignition switch and voltage regulator Throttle Cable Carburetor repair and fan belt Clutch cable and oil change Fuel level float on gas tank Just started the car up and ran it around the block-went great. I will also include a CD I purchased for replacing tops on VW's. Forgot to mention you may want to buy Door panels they are $129 for four and are easy to install as they simply clip in place.
