Here is a chance to own a really unique car at a reasonable price. One year before Plymouth came out with the Road Runner, Dick Teague and the AMC studios introduced the Rebel SST. If you go to a car show you will be the ONLY ONE with this car. If you go to an AMC only car show, it will be a rare occurance to see another Rebel SST - AMX's, Javelins, Marlins - yes. Rebels no. This car has been beautifully restored.At the recent arithritis show in Columbus Ohio, one of the biggest in the area and finished FIRST in it's class. The next day, it finished GOLD LEVEL at the Dick Teague all AMC regional show. Now it's your turn to rack up the trophies! Brand new original color Matador red paint beautifully painted by D&D of Marysville Ohio. There is no bondo or rust in the body. The interior panels are correct OEM material from SMS in Oregon and the seats were faithfully redone by Too Tall Interiors, Dayton, Ohio. Lots of NOS parts from Kennedy American. Rechromed bumpers by Leonard's Plating Nitro West Virginia, handles by the Chrome Shop Mandyville, LA and interior plastic parts replated by ChromeTech, Madison Wisconsin. The instruments work (although the clock only when it wants to) as well as the lights and turn signals. The steering wheel has been refinished by RimBlow Buddy and there is all new carpeting. She rides on magnum 500 wheels with AMC centers and correct Firestone red line wide ovals. Brakes are good, all fluids changed, tuned up and lots of new auxiliary parts such as alternator and carb and thermostat and water pump. New door roof and trunk seals. The transmission seal leaks after it has been sitting but seals up after it has been run for a bit This car has lots of options that make it a VERY unusual. Only 15,287 Rebel SST 2 door coupes were made in 1967. Only 2% of all Rebels made had power disc brakes, if you apply that percentage to SST's, this would be one of 306. If you apply the percentages for other options the same way, it would be one of 61 with power windows, one of 459 with a tilt wheel. Other options include the 343 high compression V-8 , 4bbl carb, bucket seats and console, shift command 3 speed auto transmission, rear speaker, AM radio, remote driver's mirror,wood grain sport wheel, rear lift air shocks and it is a California car with WORKING Air Guard pollution controls! I have restored this car as accurately as possible and have only varied from the original in a few details. It originally had a vinyl top but I didn't like the lines so I did not reinstall one after paint. I kept all of the trim and it goes with the car. Likewise I did not like the wheel trim and have all of that as well. Dual exhausts in original style were added. A book documenting the restoration, seat tags, a copy of the california title and Rebel information is included. Car is sold as is where is. I'm sure I've forgotten something so ask questions.
