Cars that keep getting better as the years go by. This beautifully restored 914 would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum A 1975 VW-Porsche 914/4. Initially used as an autocross car, this Porsche has been modified slightly from stock to mimic the highly sought after 1973 model. This Porsche sports newly re-chromed bumpers and is powered by a modified 2.0 liter engine. Unlike most 914s, this particular car is an absolute joy to drive and runs spiritedly and shifts effortlessly. The fine tuning and workmanship was performed by Dave Capuro of C&C Automotive in Reno, Nevada, and Frank's Automotive in Sacramento, California. C&C Automotive performed a performance rebuild on the 2.0 Liter engine supplying a standard crank, reconditioned connecting rods, new European Spec. pistons, new non-stock cam shaft, new jugs, exhaust headers, reconditioned cylinder heads complete with new valve springs, guides, seats, etc. and polished ports including flow testing. In addition, the crank, rods, pistons, and flywheel were all balanced as a unit. Other modifications included oil galleys drilled larger so oil pressure would remain high during cornering. After assembly and installation, the distributor was rebuilt and the injectors reconditioned. The engine was then tuned and dyno tested producing nearly 140 horse power. The transmission work was skillfully performed by Frank's Automotive producing a smooth, flawless shifting transmission. The clutch, pilot bushing, and throw out bearing have all been replaced as well. The suspension has been restored, refurbished, modified, upgraded, and or replaced in its entirety. A sway bar has been added to the front and mid-stiff springs in the corners. The 4 wheel disc brake system has been upgraded and modified as well. The modifications include the BMW 320I caliper conversion and a 19mm master cylinder. The rest of the system is new stock parts. The body work and paint are nearly flawless and coupled with the polished rims, turns heads everywhere this car goes. The only areas that could use some detailing to get the car to excellent condition are the two trunks and a replacement of the seal for the removable top. (shown in the photos) The interior sports a nice Blaupunkt Stereo and matching brand speakers, as well as a mix of new and original fabrics and materials. There are a few items in non working order, one of which is the heater system due to the installation of the exhaust headers. A used set of heat exchangers will be available upon request but are in need of some repairs. The sun visors are missing and the odometer is not currently operating. Other minor items needing attention are a missing cover for a coat hook on the passenger side, the Hazard light circuit, the cigarette lighter socket circuit, the key cylinders on the doors and trunk are temperamental and stick occasionally when trying to lock or unlock, and there is a very small chip on the top edge of the passenger side door glass. Overall, this Porsche is in great mechanical condition and has been a reliable vehicle. It is ready to drive and enjoy as it is. Substantial investments have been made to bring the car to its current condition and when driving, one can see no expense was spared. Space and storage are the only reasons for the sale. The name Porsche, a symbol of style, prestige, uniqueness, luxury and good quality. Cars that keep getting better as the years go by. This beautifully restored 914 would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.

Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum

A 1975 VW-Porsche 914/4. Initially used as an autocross car, this Porsche has been modified slightly from stock to mimic the highly sought after 1973 model. This Porsche sports newly re-chromed bumpers and is powered by a modified 2.0 liter engine. Unlike most 914s, this particular car is an absolute joy to drive and runs spiritedly and shifts effortlessly. The fine tuning and workmanship was performed by Dave Capuro of C&C Automotive in Reno, Nevada, and Frank's Automotive in Sacramento, California. C&C Automotive performed a performance rebuild on the 2.0 Liter engine supplying a standard crank, reconditioned connecting rods, new European Spec. pistons, new non-stock cam shaft, new jugs, exhaust headers, reconditioned cylinder heads complete with new valve springs, guides, seats, etc. and polished ports including flow testing. In addition, the crank, rods, pistons, and flywheel were all balanced as a unit. Other modifications included oil galleys drilled larger so oil pressure would remain high during cornering. After assembly and installation, the distributor was rebuilt and the injectors reconditioned. The engine was then tuned and dyno tested producing nearly 140 horse power. The transmission work was skillfully performed by Frank's Automotive producing a smooth, flawless shifting transmission. The clutch, pilot bushing, and throw out bearing have all been replaced as well. The suspension has been restored, refurbished, modified, upgraded, and or replaced in its entirety. A sway bar has been added to the front and mid-stiff springs in the corners. The 4 wheel disc brake system has been upgraded and modified as well. The modifications include the BMW 320I caliper conversion and a 19mm master cylinder. The rest of the system is new stock parts. The body work and paint are nearly flawless and coupled with the polished rims, turns heads everywhere this car goes. The only areas that could use some detailing to get the car to excellent condition are the two trunks and a replacement of the seal for the removable top. (shown in the photos) The interior sports a nice Blaupunkt Stereo and matching brand speakers, as well as a mix of new and original fabrics and materials. There are a few items in non working order, one of which is the heater system due to the installation of the exhaust headers. A used set of heat exchangers will be available upon request but are in need of some repairs. The sun visors are missing and the odometer is not currently operating. Other minor items needing attention are a missing cover for a coat hook on the passenger side, the Hazard light circuit, the cigarette lighter socket circuit, the key cylinders on the doors and trunk are temperamental and stick occasionally when trying to lock or unlock, and there is a very small chip on the top edge of the passenger side door glass. Overall, this Porsche is in great mechanical condition and has been a reliable vehicle. It is ready to drive and enjoy as it is. Substantial investments have been made to bring the car to its current condition and when driving, one can see no expense was spared. Space and storage are the only reasons for the sale.
