Vehicle Detail

The Hawk you have been waiting for: I am reluctantly selling my 1958 Silver Hawk which I have owned for 15 years. When I first got the car, it needed front floorboards and they were immediately replaced. I have steadly improved the car over the years, both mechanically and cosmetically. It is driven only on the weekends and to car shows. This beautiful Hawk is admired by everyone who sees it. It has the strong running 289 cubic inch engine with 4-barrel carb, (225 hp), 3 speed automatic tranmission and twin-traction differential. It has manual brakes and steering which work as they should. Here are some highlights: Body: * New 2-stage paint in 2010 (Studebaker color Inca Cream) * Nice to excellent stainless and chrome, many nos pieces. * Clean rust-free frame/undercarriage * Detailed engine bay * New rubber seals/weather stripping. * New windshield Interior: * All new upholstery, carpet, headliner, kick panels, sill plates, rear package shelf, windlace; later style Hawk buckets/console, and 57 Golden Hawk style door panels. * Dash recovered * All guages, switches, radio, heater clock (converted to quartz) work. Mechanical: * Engine runs strong with no unusual noises or smoke. * Edelbrock 500 cfm 4 barrel carb. * Nice sounding flowmaster dual exhausts. * Tranmission shifts as it should, recent service. * Twin-traction rear end was rebuilt in 2010. * New brakes all around. * New radiator hoses, new thermostat. * New rear bushings, new rear shocks. * New rear wiring harness * New fuel pump * Complete tune-up. Other Information: * New Weld Racing aluminum wheels with new 205/75/15 tires; Original 14" wheels and full-size wheel covers come with the car. * Hawks are prone to having the hood fly up at speed. I installed an additional safey latch on the hood mechanisum to prevent this. * Fusible link installed on the primary hot wire to protect the entire wiring harness. * Studebaker shop manual and body/chassis manuals included. * No, its not absolutely perfect, it does have a couple of normal Studebaker oil drips. I have set a very reasonable reserve on this car; It is priced according the the current market, not pie-in-the-sky Barrett Jackson prices. This is your chance for a great buy! For sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. No warranty expressed or implied. $1,000 deposit due within 3 days of completion of Ebay listing; balance due within 14 days.
