On Aug-04-11 at 09:43:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Dear sknimni, A good question & coming from a fellow car enthusiast. We know that mileage is non-applicable on titles issued for cars from this era. However, I believe this gentleman & several other 914 enthusiasts have recently inspected & driven this 914 gem or drove along w/ their own 914's, 1.7 1.8 & 2.0 liter cars. They were all very impressed by its originality & drivability-that it actually would keep pace w/ a 2.0 liter during acceleration was a testament to the tightness and low mileage of this vehicle. Nowhere is there any indication of massaging/change-out or foul play of this vehicle. The gauges are consistent in aging, yellowing & fading. Underdash articles & wiring are all original; including factory wire wrapping & little brown paper tags at the end of the wires indicating the wires have never been removed. We know when you remove gauges from a 914 & try to pull them out, twist & turn, push & pull, through precise holes & steering wheel, then pull the wires off, those little brown paper tags almost always come off in your hands because they are so brittle & near the end of the wire pull. That being said, the car went through an extensive prepurchase inspection by John Forbes of Black Forest Racing, a Porsche Certified mechanic & 914 specialist since 1971. The car was verified to be true to its mileage. Most would attest that after 40,000+ miles most speedo stop working. Being a NC car, John knows most 914's in the area. This is one of the finer samples he has had the pleasure of inspecting. The mileage at the time of inspection was 37809. There are 2 known owners; the original owner, a delightful & appreciative aging woman. The 2nd owner, also from NC, who can & will verify & attest to the validity of the cars' mileage The 2nd owner took delivery '05. As always we encourage any and all car enthusiasts to come and inspect this well preserved 914 gem. The second ownerâs title, from 2005, does not have a recording of mileage as per new laws of requirement to age. However, every indication of this vehicle tells the true mileage and value of this 914. We will exhaust ourselves to paper trail this 914 as far back as possible always satisfying our clients out there in the car enthusiast world. Our hope is that our clients will reciprocate our efforts. We look forward to seeing your bid.
