1997 Land Rover Discovery This truck runs and drives great, and looks good too. It passed VA state safety inspection 2 months ago (good thru 5/12), this inspection includes checks to the bearings,tie rods,brakes,drive-train,lights,wipers,seat belts, etc. Tires are almost new, 95% tread. It has power windows, power seats, heated seats, power mirrors,power door locks, all work great. The AC blows cold, even in the ridiculously hot weather we've had this month. The paint looks good,shiny not faded with nice British green color. The leather interior is clean and shows some wear but is very serviceable (you wont be embarrassed but it is a 14 year old car) The engine starts easily,runs smoothly, and is in good tune. The transmission shifts smoothly, the transfer case shifts into low range and diff lock the way it should. I am not the original owner but I have very complete service records going back from when the truck was new through the last few months, they show all major services done by a rover dealer. My records show that a set of 2" lift off-road springs and shocks were installed in 2005. A trailer hitch and light hookup are installed, but I haven't tested or used them (I don't have anything to test them with) I have the original door lock remote and it works fine. No check engine or other service lights on The bad The truck does have some cosmetic issues, There are an assortment of dents, dings and so forth. Nothing huge but a close inspection will find them. Both the front and rear bumper have kissed something in the past, if you look close you can see that they are slightly bent, nothing huge but I don't want any surprises for the buyer. The cloth headliner is coming loose ( They all do, I don't know why this style was popular they ALWAYS fail ) The front sunroof is stuck, I can hear the motor trying but it doesn't move. The rear sunroof works great. The aftermarket radio(Pioneer) works when it feels like it, my guess is loose contacts but it hasn't really been an issue to me (Not really into music) In summary the truck is in good running shape, the issues it has don't affect how it drives. The exterior dents and interior wear and tear are pretty normal for a car of this age. Its not perfect but to get perfect in a Land Rover you should expect to pay a lot more money. I might even drive it to within 200 miles of 23063(Goochland VA) if the buyer covers the costs (gas for me and the other driver who has to follow me to bring me home), if you want me to deliver it everything will need to be paid in full before I leave. The buyer will need to make arrangements to pay within 5 days and get the truck within 10 days of the auction. I am selling this car in AS IS condition. It runs great and doesn't have any problems now but I cant offer any guarantees on a car with 174000 miles.
