Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1993 Ford Explorer. It is 4WD, but I have never used the 4WD. The light on the dashboard does not come on. I don't know if it is just the light or if it not shifting into 4WD. The truck was sold to me with 83,000 miles and I have put on another 11000. 94000 is pretty low for a 93. It was sold to me as original miles, but since I am not the original owner, I a can only tell you what was told to me. I am selling this truck because it has developed a leak in the brake line to the left rear wheel. The line is rusted through and leaks pretty significantly when you press on the breaks. You might be able to fill up the brake fluid and get it home but I cannot recommend that you try to drive this vehicle until you do something about the breaks. As far as I can tell there is only one leak in the break system. There is only one place dripping fluid. However, I believe the vehicle originally came from Ohio so it has seen some road salt and all the lines are pretty rusted up. You might be able to just fix this one line and drive it for years, but then again you may not. Someone with brake line tools could probably fix this pretty easily, but I don't have the tools to fix it or the time to mess with it. It also has a small exhaust problem. One of the flanges has come loose and it is to rusty to fix. If you intend to fix this vehicle, you will have to do a little exhaust work in addition to the brake line. Vehicle is in overall OK shape but is almost 20 years old so has the normal issues. It was sold to me as never having been wrecked but looks to have some bondo around the fuel filler area. I have never had any issues with fuel. Tires are decent. Truck starts and runs. You are free to start it and drive it a bit around my farm to check it out before you buy, but with questionable brakes, I wouldn't recommend you take it out on the road. Buy it and fix it, or part it out. Good Luck
