Exceptionally clean 1986 Chevrolet Caprice Brougham. The mileage is 78,750 actual. The car has the following options: Brougham sedan package which includes a full vinyl roof. Air Conditioning (not working) Cruise control Tinted glass Comfortilt steering wheel Power door locks Power windows Power trunk release intermittent wipers Dual remote mirrors Electronic-tuning seek/scan am/fm stereo extended range rear speakers quiet sound group Door edge guards Bumper guards The engine is a 305 cu. in V8 with a 4 barrell carburetor. The paint and upholstry are ALL Original. The car runs strong and the transmission shifts normal with no slippage whatsoever. This car can be driven any where. I am the third owner. I bought it from the 2nd owner who bought it from the original owner about a year after it was new. I bought it from the grandson of a woman who could no longer drive due to advancing age and had to begin living in a rest home. This is truly one of the "little ole ladys car" that wasn't driven much and gently used. I am selling it because I want better gas mileage. The mileage is around 20 mpg on the highway but not as good as I would like in town. I am also selling it because the air condtioner is not working. I have owned the car since January 2009. The air condtioning was working when I bought it but 3 months after I bought it the compressor froze up. The air conditioning system has been converted to the new r4 system. So a new or rebuilt compressor might fix it. I don't know and I haven't had an air conditioner expert look at it. This car has a very smooth-quiet ride. This is one of the most beautiful examples of an 86 Caprice that you'll ever find. If you're looking for one don't pass it up. The car does have a few dings that don't show in the photos and a few scratches. But nothing that harms the general over all striking beauty of the car. The interior is practically like new with no tears, dry rot or carpet tears. The head liner has 2 or 3 loose spots but only about as big as a softball on one and smaller on the others. The passsenger side front door window will not roll down all the way. The passenger side rear window tilts when you roll it down. I haven't tried to fix that because I didn't want to tear the door panels out since they are in perfect condition The bumper valance panel in front is missing. The rear bumper side filler panels are missing . These are available in the aftermarket parts source. The rear roof pillar posts are missing the covering on the inside. They were coming loose so I just took them off and painted the fiberglass backing that was behind the felt. That shouldn't be very expensive to have a upholstry shop redo. That's all that's wrong with the interior what soever. The dash is beautiful with no cracks. If you want to know anything more about the car please ask. I am setting the reserve to what I think is fair and according to the nada book value for this car in this condition. The rear brakes were relined last month and the front breaks have quite a bit of wear left. The transmission was serviced last month and so was the cooling system. The tires are a year and a half old. Take a look at the pictures and see how beautiful this car really is. If you want some close ups of the few dings it has let me know and I will send them. No drifting to one side when braking. The tires are worn evenly so the front end should be in alignment.
