1979 Honda

Up for auction is my 1979 Honda CX 500. This is a daily rider, with no known mechanical issues. I believe the bike to be all original, however I cannot warrant this to be the case as I am the second owner. Tires, brakes, battery, plugs and fluids are less than 60 days old. This is a very smooth and easy rider, no drips or leaks. Research on this model suggests several innovations for its time: comstar wheels, shaft drive, and liquid cooling were new for Honda and produced for this model in 1978. The V-Twin motor was a take-off on a Moto Guzzi design adding to the unique character of this bike. I rate the condition as good, given the age of the bike. However, note there are scratches and 2 dents on gas tank, some pitting of chrome on front fender and normal wear associated with a 32 year old bike. None of it bothers me and I get a lot of compliments when I pull up on this bike. The buyer is responsible for shipping although I am willing to deliver up to 300 miles from Chicago, at a cost to be paid by buyer ($100.00 plus $40.00 per hundred miles-round trip mileage). I enjoy riding this bike, but will be moving up to a larger bike. Please be advised mileage will increase slightly as i do ride this bike every day, weather permitting.
