Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking. Well I decided to sell my roadrunner project car as I am just running out of room to store our project cars and I got a 68 black gtx instead so this one will need to find a new home and someone to do the restoration on it. It is one of my favorite cars as it is the epitome of a musclecar and is in my opinion about as good as it gets for a 383 roadrunner with the options it has. The car is a TRIPLE BLACK 4 SPEED car. I have watched roadrunners a long time and you just don't come across too many real factory black air grabber 4 speed cars. This car is in need of a full restoration but it is pretty solid. It is not a numbers matching motor either but I really wonder if it is the born with motor as the car vin is #298318 and the block is from the same plant, same year, and it is #306XXX so I wonder if it was a lemon motor once it got down the factory line and they just swapped in a new 383 off the line? The car was a one owner car as the owner said he would die with the car and he did and his estate sold it and they said it was the original engine the car came with and it sure looks like it has never been messed with but who knows? Either way it is NOT a vin # matching motor. The car was stored out in a shelterbelt under heavy trees since 1976 and the body was protected pretty well. Someone stole the air grabber hood off the car when it was parked so it is not with the car but I do have a hood off of a 68 roadrunner I could toss into the deal for $150 extra if you wanted that. The front passenger fender was not under the trees all the time and it got some weathering on it but it is definetly useable. The rest of the body was suprisingly good and should be a car were alot of the original sheetmetal will be useable. Please look at the photos to see what it looks like. The pass. door has a dent in it where a cow backed into it but it fixable and the rear bumper was bent when they hooked a chain on it to pull it out but it might be able to be saved and replated too. The front bumper is good. The car has the normal rust underneath but should only need a patch panel on the drivers floor and passenger floor. The trunk floor will need a patch panel above the tank too. The framerails in the back are pretty good. There are a few smaller quarter sized holes in two spots I saw but they would be an easy fix. The front framerails are where the issue is as they did not take out the battery and it ate it way right through the frame all the way to the ground. At least it is the front framerail which will be an easy fix but I wanted to make sure you understand it is gone as I don't want to hide anything on the car. The front K-memeber got some corrosion on it to and should probably be swapped out too. The engine is locked up on the car and I see a small rust spot on the top of the valvecover from not being cover by the hood and I am sure some water has gotten down into the engine over time but hopefully it can be saved once taken apart but I did not worry too much when we bought it since it was not an exact #'s matching block. I know this car has some issues and I wanted to be as straight forward with those as I could in the description so I think I made the car sound worse than it really is. It would be a very very nice project for someone to do as it is a pretty solid car overall. Plus it is a BLACK AIR GRABBER 4 SPEED CAR!! On Jul-21-11 at 05:14:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, it has been brought to my attention the car is NOT an air grabber hood option so I am sorry for messing up on that. ThanksOn Jul-24-11 at 05:50:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, I have had some questions on it so I will clarify. The car comes with 383 motor, 4 speed trans and 8 3/4 rearend which are all still in the car. The paint on the car looks to be the orginal paint. All the glass, trim and front grille are with the car and stored inside the car currently. The car's #'s match on the dashpad, radiator support and trunk. I hope this helps. Thanks
