Vehicle Detail

1949 DeSoto S13-C 2 Door Club Coupe. I bought this car on a whim at an auction in Nebraska on July 16th because I felt it was a very good deal, and I had an empty trailer (a lethal combination). Unfortunately auction fever got the best of me, becuase the last thing I really need is another car. I've decided to offer it for sale for exactly what I have into it. I just don't need another car. It is a very presentable, very straight, nice driving, excellent running head-turner. This car is stunning in the creamy-yellow paint. I have only driven it from my house to my storage unit (about 15 miles), but it drives exceptionally well and seems well sorted. The panel fit and gaps are excellent. The body is very straight. The paint is very nice. It really is a beautiful DeSoto. Someone put a lot of money into this car, and the sum of the parts greatly exceeds the selling price. The seller told me he had $40K into it, which seems plausible based on the following - >Fully rebuilt 236 CI L-head six. Hopped-up with EDGY aluminum cylinder head and 2-carb EGDY intake. Split exhaust. Runs excellent. Starts immediately. 12V conversion. >All new brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, etc. Stops straight and drama-free. >Fluid drive transmission with DeSoto "tip-toe-shift" operates as it should. >All new chrome in perfect, pit-free condition. Perfectly straight and nicely finished. Perfect hubcaps. >Excellent stainless, trim, and brightwork. >All new glass, weatherstrip, sweeps, seals, etc on the entire car. All window regulators operate perfectly. >Fulton visor. Dual spots. Fog lights. Exhaust deflectors. >Dash and gauges restored. >New wide whites. >New interior. >Paint is very nice. I would give it an A-. >Odometer, which I assume was turned back when the car was restored, shows 450 miles. >The pictures say it all. This is a gorgeous car. >I will do my best to respond to emails in a timely manner. >Thanks for looking! Good luck!On Jul-21-11 at 07:01:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I would consider trades, up or down, for a running and driving 1934 to 1949 Mopar convertible. What do you have?
