Vehicle Detail
1965 Dodge Dart 270 Two Door Post 100% Rust Free California Black Plate Car Here for your consideration is a 100% rust free california car. This car spent most of its life in california with its original owner until it was sold to the previous owner back in the late 80's and brought to arizona. The original engine was rebuilt using high quality components, with some performance parts thrown in. The engine was bored .030 over and a mild, but lopey cam was installed at the same time. The one barrel carb and manifold were also ditched at that time in favor of a Mopar performance aluminum piece and a holley carb. On the exhaust side there is a full length header that feeds into a Hooker muffler and dumps just in front of the rear axle. It has a nice deep tone to it, not loud at all. The car has lots of power for what it is, and should get pretty decent fuel economy. If you can keep your foot out of it! There are less than 500 miles on the rebuild. Does have a small oil leak. The car runs and drives great. The transmission shifts flawlessly thru all of the gears, and the rear axle doesn't make any unusual sounds. The body on this car is the most solid A body mopar I have ever seen. The floors, front to rear are solid. The trunk floor and spare tire well are solid. The rocker panels are solid. The trunk extensions are solid. The quarter panels are solid. You wont find ANY rust on this car, period. Again, 100% rust free! Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. Just recently the car recieved a fresh coat of paint in the original color of Ruby Red Metallic. It isn't a show quality paint job by any means, but looks very nice, and it's not too nice where you can't enjoy driving the car whenever you want. The trim on the car is in good condition, it has some dings here and there but shows nicely and is complete. The bumpers are straight but the chrome isn't perfect. The tailight lenses are in great condition, but the chrome on the housings have some pitting. All of the lights work, except for the reverse lights and dash lights. The gauges dont seem to be working either, besides the amp gauge. The speedo doesn't operate either. The heater core has been replaced with a new one and the heater works great. The interior needs help. The seats are original and need to be recovered. The door panels are missing, but all of the arm rests and door handles are present. As are all of the window cranks. Carpet needs to be installed as well as a package tray. All of the glass is good. No cracks. The windshield is starting to delaminate at the bottom but does not effect the view. A new dash cap has been installed, but the defrost vents need to be replaced. The wheels are almost brand new, as are the tires. Inside the trunk remains what looks to be the original spare tire! Also, all of the jack equipment is there, as well as all of the tire hold down hardware. I have the build sheet, the original owners manual with the original selling dealers name and date of sale. Inside the glovebox is a sticker that was installed by the original dealer Earl Ike Dodge in Inglewood California. There is also the original license plate frame from Earl Ike Dodge on the rear. It still has the original black california plates on it!
