1949 Mercury Coupe Original "one-family owned" 1949 Mercury Coupe. Purchased new February 18, 1949 from the local Mercury dealer in Enid. We have a copy of the check ($1,126.00), service policy, books and original title. Last tagged in 1958 but now has a current Oklahoma tag and title. Side vent glasses open, front and rear. The car runs and drives. Fifteen inch FOMOCO wheels. New wheel cylinders and new shocks. New left front wheel bearings. New 225 tires on the rear and good 215 high tread on the front. New paint. Factory push button radio, overdrive transmission, inside hood latch, clock and gauges. Factory three speed standard on the column. Starter button on left dash. Starts instantly. Speedometer mileage 52,835 represented as actual miles by the previous owner. New seats, new carpet and new side panels. Original bumper and grill in good condition with bumper guards. This Mercury was parked after being driven nine years. The windshields are good. New tinted side glasses. This is a remarkable car for being 61 years old. Always garaged. New gas tank. Mechanical restoration. New radiator, hoses, and heater hoses. 12 volt new battery, new voltage regulator, new spark plug wires, new all steel water pumps with motor mounts, and new fan belt. Original oil bath air cleaner and carburetor. Car starts easy and does not smoke. The engine starts immediately and is whisper quiet. No smoke. Twenty-four bolt flat head engine.
