Vehicle Detail

Condition: This car runs great. Neither the engine nor the transmission have ever given me any problems. The body is in excellent condition with a couple small rust spots that are typical for a car this age. I've enjoyed many miles in this car with a smile plastered on my face. However, as with most 27 year old cars, there were a few things that bothered me. - Hood and hatch pneumatic shocks were shot- Dash was very cracked.- Odometer and trip-odometer didn't work- Windshield wipers were so slow they were useless (so I got stuck in the rain)- Windshield washer fluid bottle leaked- Tail light kept going out (that got me pulled over)- etc So, I replaced the shocks so I could work under the hood without a prop. I then investigated what it would take to replace or fix the various bits that were bothering me. Needless to say, I found that it would take way more than I could afford to give the car the proper treatment that it deserved. Therefore, I decided that I would make the car into an autocrosser. I tore out everything that wasn't necessary and that I could figure out how to remove. There's not much for an interior now, and I've not dumped any money into performance parts. It's a car that works best for someone working on a 944 project or that wants to get into autocrossing. All of the parts that I have removed will go with the car. If you have specific questions about what was working (most everything) or what wasn't before I started disassembling, please ask. This car has been a lot of fun, but I simply don't have the time for it anymore and it makes the most sense to part with it. History: I bought this car a few years back on eBay. The seller was local, and I was able to go check it out in person, which I invite you to do as well. Email me and I'll set up a showing for you. The seller told me the car had 132,615 miles. This was the odometer reading, but I soon found after my purchase that the odometer was busted. I'm not sure if I was misled or if the seller was just unaware of the issue. From what I've read though, it's quite common. I was also told that the engine went through a major tune-up at 80,000 miles, which I believe considering that it has never given me a single issue. I've been driving the car in fair weather for the past three years and always enjoyed it. Oil changes have been done every 6 months even though I probably put no more than 1,000 miles on during those periods. Shipping and payment: This will be an honest auction with a starting bid of $500. Highest bidder wins, no reserve. I have no idea how to ship a car. Please either pick it up in person or arrange shipping yourself. I will accept any kind of payment that I can transfer to my bank. Thanks. On Jul-22-11 at 15:10:00 PDT, seller added the following information: ALL, Bidders, it was brought to my attention that in the 5th picture (the one of the front right tire) it appears as though there is a patch on the fender. I discovered that this was caused by a reflection of a garbage bag in the background - the body in that area is perfect. See the two pictures that I have added.
