1981 DELOREAN DMC-12 ORIGINAL CUSTOM VANITY BLUE PLATE "DLOREON" Stainless Steel California Classic Car 39,000 Original Miles NO RESERVE!!! Up for sale with NO RESERVE is a bid to win classic 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 made by DeLorean Motor Company. The car has an all stainless steel body that has never been painted or molested and retains the original character of the car. There are 39,000 miles on the car which is very low considering the year it was produced. This DeLorean has been in California its entire life and only one owner up untill last year. What makes this car even more special is that it includes the ORIGINAL BLUE PLATES from 1981. They are not only original Blue Plates they are VANITY BLUE PLATES SAYING "DLOREON" which im sure are worth gold to a DoLorean collector. If car is sold out of state the plates are not included with the sale. There are two very minor dings on the passenger door which are barely noticeble other than that the stainless steel is in good shape for its age and looks amazing when the sun hits it. The front and rear bumpers could stand a repaint. This car was originally purchased in Fresno, California from Fresno Datsun on North Blackstone Avenue. The wheels are original and in fantastic shape with NO CURB RASH whatsoever. The Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires are in great shape and ready to roll. Included in the auction are the front two ORIGINAL GOODYEAR ST tires. The rear two are not available. These are the tires that came on the car from the factory. They were changed out when the car had under 30,000 miles. All the glass on the entire car is in great shape. The car is not stock height and has been lowered to european model specs. It handles and looks much better than stock. All the hydraulics for the doors, hood and trunk are functioning as they should with no sag. The interior is in fairly decent shape with the drivers side seat needing a recover as well as the headliner. The door headliner panels are off but included in the sale with car. The oil gauge and volt gauge are intermittent but other than that all the gauges are functioning as they should. All the lights and signals work and there are no warning lights lit up on the dash. All the accesories work but the A/C needs a recharge. The stereo is an alpine deck with two 6x9 speakers installed that sound awesome. The front hood release handle lost its knob. It still funtions but I have been using a pair of needle-nose to release the hood. The ignition key switch is slightly sensitive when inserting the key. Both of the power windows work however the driver side switch needs a sensitive touch as well to go down. The weatherstripping on both doors could stand to be replaced as well. The front trunk is in great shape with the carpeting still intact. Under that still sits the ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE which is UN-USED! Complete boil out of the gas tank, new fuel pump, new sending unit, new fuel filter. - No docs to back up that this is the true original miles. The first owner states it's the original so that's what we are going off of. - The brake system was redone a few thousand miles ago and work great. - The shift linkage is good except it's a little tough to go straight into first gear. I shift from second to first and it goes in smooth. Probably could use adjutment. - The car could use a tune-up.
