Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a SOLID example of a 1958 or 1959 CADILLAC brand (no relation to General Motors, but related to the Wolverine boat company depending on the year) Aluminum boat- this looks to be to be a dead ringer for the 1958 catalog page of the RIVIERA model, and it is 14 feet long to boot. The canted dashboard is a dead giveaway that this is a Cadillac product. Note also the fancy decking at the rear of the boat and motor well that allows for a built in back bench seat. While this boat is not the prettiest thing, there is nothing I see that precludes this from being a straightforward restoration. The finish will come back with the usual west sanding in starting at 600 grit and going up 200 a time to 1200 grit. You don’t have to polish these old lumie boats to death like an airstream but can get a really nice shine going by doing the wet sanding as above. The boat does not have a windshield that came with it but I may be able to locate one in my garage that would fit it if the boat does sell. The windshield would be extra but reasonably priced. I don’t see anything about this boat that can’t be brought back to 100% and even show quality. Any extra holes in the deck can be tig welded shut and either veneer the dash in wood or tig those holes too. While the boat does not come with a motor, we have plenty of period correct and appropriately sized motors to choose from here if you are interested. The boat comes on a really SOLID trailer that has decent tires, this trailer could take much more boat and the boat does need to be adjusted forward fro the proper ballast = not a big deal. I would NOT recommend just hooking up and driving away as the bearings are making some noise on this trailer. A good clean up and greasing of the bearings would probably solve this enough to get you home. Last time I towed the trailer, the lights did work. I do have a title on the trailer as it used to be my “gopher” trailer for a time. Please ask all questions before bidding. This boat will be sold on a NH notarized bill of sale and that instrument is then negotiable in any state for a boat registration and title if your state does title boats. Cash in person is how this gets paid for, payment and pick up within 10 days. I am located in western Kentucky in far western zip code of 42211, near the Barkley Lake bridge. NO RESERVE!!!!
