Vehicle Detail
I was fortunate to find and purchase this 1977 CB750A2 Hondamatic recently from the original owner with only 11,200 mi.. He took possession in 6/77, and kept the bike in excellent condition through the years. It has always been kept indoors and covered, so the paint, brightwork and chrome are in nice shape. The paint retains virtually all its original gloss. It is the Hondamatic, which was only made from 1976-78. It is a very smooth bike and the throttle response is crisp. No clutch, but has a "L" and "D'. Easy to ride and master in a short time. It has never been in an accident or abused in any manner. I have the original bill of sale, owners manual, and other douments that came with the bike when new. The Honda tool kit is also included. The paint is a very nice Candy Sword Blue and has no fading, dents or scratches. The exhaust is original and also in good shape. The seat is perfect. The tires have been replaced about 5 yrs ago and do not show any cracking or other damage. The bike runs very good, starts quickly and handles well. I have just changed the oil & filter, replaced the plugs, installed a new battery, and adjusted the carburator idle speed. It will need the front brake caliper rebuilt, new pads and new brake fluid. The carburators were rebuilt years ago, and could probably benefit from a good rebuild again. They are in excellent sync now, and power is very good throughout the engine's rpm band. Idle is even, and the bike sounds excellent. These are excellent first bikes or even a great bike for the seasoned rider. The CB750 is a smooth and powerful vintage Honda motorcycle. I'll be glad to answer any questions about the bike or provide more images if requested. I will assist with the buyer's shipper. I accept PayPal or a money order from a major bank. The bike is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. On Jul-10-11 at 06:37:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I can also deliver the bike to the AMA Vintage Bike Days at Mid-Ohio in July 22-24 if prior arrangements are made.On Jul-10-11 at 15:01:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a few additional images showing closer views of the tank, engine and seat. Please note the caliper has been removed and will be sent along with the bike. It will need to be rebuilt and reinstalled. On Jul-11-11 at 15:03:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: I noticed on Sunday two of the carbs are dribbling gas out of their overflow lines. The carbs will need to be removed from the bike and thououghly cleaned and rebuilt for sure. Until the carbs are rebuilt , the gas shut off valve on the left side of the tank must be kept in the "off" position or gas will run out of the overflow lines and onto garage floor or driveway. On Jul-11-11 at 16:33:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Carb oveflow issue is probably float valves not seating properly, improper float height settings, or hole in floats.
