Vehicle Detail

This 1995 BMW 740i is being sold AS-IS for Parts. It is rebuild-able but would better serve as a parts car. I will list the known major issues with the car. This is not a completely inclusive list but I am making known all the major issues to the best of my knowledge. Oil Pressure Light On AC Compressor is locked up (and deleted w/ short serpentine belt) Leak somewhere in power steering system, suspect a line or reservoir. Damage to passengers side rear (see pictures) Damage to rear bumper (see pictures) Damage to front bumper/valence w/ light hood damage (see pictures) Various cosmetic issues w/ interior Various exterior blemishes, faded paint on top of outer panels. The story behind this car is it was being driven by a family member regularly and at one point would not start. It was towed to a local shop where we were told the motor was bad and no longer making compression. At which point we were offered 400 dollars by the mechanic. The car was towed from the mechanics to my garage where I found the actual issue with the compression was a locked up AC compressor stalling out the motor on start. I deleted the compressor using a shorter serpentine belt and checked compression on all cylinders. The motor started up fine and immediately I noticed the oil pressure light. The car was not driven in this condition and was promptly shut off. I dropped the oil pan and tightened the oil pump bolts (which were lose) and replaced the oil pan gasket. I started the engine again at which point was still receiving the oil pressure light. I am unsure whether this oil pressure issue occurred while the car was sitting between the mechanics and the time I was able to inspect it, or if it had been driven previously by the family member with this condition. I did not notice any knock or noise for the brief time I had it started, but can no be sure if there is potential damage to the bearings, which is why this listing is parts only. It will take someone with more time and skills than I to diagnose the oil pressure issue, one possible thing I never looked into was a stuck bypass valve, or seals on the oil pump (which is mechanically chain driven). That issue combined with the cosmetic damage made us decide it was better off to just be sold AS-IS for parts. Conditions : Car will be sold AS-IS sight unseen for Parts. No warranty implied. Buyer will need to make arrangements at sellers convenience for pickup and transfer of vehicle which is located in Oxford, Ohio. Thank You!
