Up for auction is my 1960 Metropolitan convertible. This was a rust free western car which was brought to NY where it was completely disassembled, bead blasted and put on a rotisserie for restoration. The car body has all original sheet metal including the floors. The car was reassembled using all original hardware. Everything works, lights, wipers, horn, radio etc. This car has won numerous awards including Best of Show at Macungie where it was also featured on the 2009 dash plaque. During restoration I outfitted the car for drivability with MG disk brakes, 3.90 rear axle ratio, and radial tires. It is a pleasure to drive. The car was awarded a bronze level in concours judging last year and could easily do better by swapping some of the items mentioned back to stock. The correct Smiths temperature gauge is installed which is a rare option. I also have an original gas cap restored and a NOS, correct, outside mirror which go with the car. The paint on this car is stunning and I hope the photos show it. I’ve included in the photographs pictures of any flaws present. I encourage questions and welcome in-person inspections.
